  1. What Paulyski said. I work on 30 year old Toyota Land Cruisers and want to share something y'all haven't mentioned yet. Red's Oil. You can google the story, Red was a guy that figured he could make a better gun solvent than Hoppe's No 9. Red's Oil is okay for cleaning guns, but it's fantastic for removing rusted or grunged bolts. Mix equal parts: diesel, mineral spirits, ATF fluid and acetone. Spray it on and tap with an easy out or LH tap. Be very careful using heat because you want the head threads to expand, not the plug. In college, I broke out one stuck bolt using liquid
  2. I'll take it. You've got a PM. Please calculate shipping to 76112 and send me your email addy via PM. I can Paypal no problem. Happy Trails! Nick
  3. LMAO! No disrespect to y'all two wheelers, but this is a cruiser. A 1981 Toyota Land Cruiser. LOL Happy Trails! N
  4. I agree with SuperA. I'm not a LEO and I don't play one on TV. So, I have no experience with their task and that's why I try to cut LEO's some slack. I want to make one point that I haven't seen here. In my experience, COURTESY INDICATES COMPETENCE. I have worked with LEO's in several States, Canada, and Great Britain. The folks I respected the most projected quiet authority. There was never any doubt they could take someone down. They just choose to be professional and cool. In a recent discussion with my neighborhood watch officer I asked about how LEO's work with gang members. It seems
  5. LOL I wore one to a wedding in Scotland once... does that count? A kilt is not an indicator of lifestyle. Wearing clothes outside of the social norm is. So, a kilt in Aberdeen is normal, a kilt in San Francisco is an advertisement. LMAO Nick
  6. FWIW, I keep ammo and powder out of my safe. I have a closet where I store ammo because my worst case scenario is a house fire. Even my fire proof safe will heat up like an oven. The guy I used to move the safe told me several stories about safes he recovered after house fires. The safe heats up and the ammo starts an internal fire until the oxygen is used up. He said the guns had to be refinished, but the big loss was important papers inside the safe. HTH Happy Trails! N
  7. FWIW, the earlier post about proper firearm care is VERY important to avoid EGS. A long time ago I was in college with a guy that had family money and no sense. All of my friends reloaded and hunted together (more friends = more parents' land to hunt). This guy overloaded and enjoyed using a hammer to open his bolt action rifle because his loads were too hot. His gun never blew up, but I saw burns, crazing, cracks, and hammer dings on the action and the cases. I learned real quick how to distinguish signs of abuse from signs of neglect in a used gun. Anything that causes excessive pressu
  8. Alas, I don't know much but I do know politicians. They will print more money, hoping our productivity will offset the devaluation of the dollar. I have no faith that it will work out well. I fear that our dollar will buy what 10 cents (or less) will buy today. (groan) Nick
  9. Magann & Candice, next time I'll try to remember. They did a great job showing off the products and encouraging folks to talk. Once they found out I was on the forum, they treated me like family. I would have bought an empty beer can from them. Juggs, I'll buy stuff from anyone that treats me like a friend and com-padre. Great representation of TAC-47 and Juggernauts' good work. Cute too. ;-) Happy Trails! N
  10. Yeah, money's always a problem. But they really made the show for me. It was great to meet and talk to friendly folks at the gun show. Hoss, I'll PM you before the next show in Fort Worth. Happy Trails! N
  11. Gun Shows have really gone downhill over the last year or so. Too many greedy people and hard sales pitches I guess. So, I was very happy to find two Saiga Forum friends yesterday at the Dallas Gun Show. Selling Juggernaut's Right Wing Extremist T shirts, they were the best part of my whole day. Displaying Jugg's shirts to advantage, I don't remember their names (or mine), but I certainly bought some shirts. Sorry.... no pics. I couldn't hold a camera steady. Y'all need to give those girls a camera so they can sell pics. LOL Happy Trails! N
  12. The original post was helpful to me. I was born and raised in Dallas and went to high school near this "new" store. This kind of post is helpful and I appreciate the "heads up" that a new store is on the scene. I'll check it out the next time I visit my folks in east Dallas. Happy Trails! N
  13. Cool... what do we do with the waste? Spent nuclear fuel remains deadly toxic for a mere 250,000 years. Our country is only 234 years old. Most scientists agree humanity has been around for 10,000 plus or minus. Hydrogen cells, wind power, wave power, and solar are viable options to oil and should be developed. I was around in the 60's when the media said nuclear energy would be almost free. It wasn't and I don't believe it's a good option. My two cents, Nick
