Thanks for the info and advice guys... I think you've got me convinced. Doing it myself looks quite a bit easier then I expected and a hell of alot cheaper then the alternative. Probably won't be anything I can't handle, but I'll definately post again if I have any questions during the project.

Hi, I'm saving up for a basic conversion on a .223, but I'd rather have it done as locally as possible so I can save some money on shipping and whatnot. I live in the Portland area, but anywhere in Oregon would be better then sending it off to another state. Anybody know of someone refutable around here who could do it?
