  1. I don't understand "interference fit" on a threaded connection. Could you elaborate? And also, what do you mean by "blind pinned"?
  2. So what is the legal and preferred method of pinning a Molot brake like on evlblkwpnz's gun? Since it is two pieces (aluminum body with a threaded steel insert) I assume those pieces would need to be locked together. My barrel now measures 23-3/4" from the locked bolt face to the end of the brake. I want to shorten the barrel 5-1/4" to bring it down to 18-1/2". The gun with folded stock will still be well over 26" so no concerns there.
  3. Wow. What has been seen cannot be unseen. Good news: Already had breakfast. :-)
  4. A friend up in NH needed a good shot of his shop's new t-shirt so I volunteered. He specializes in AK's but I figured the Saiga was close enough.
  5. Agreed. I didn't worry about it as I know he is busy. I made no inquiries other than the coincidental one on this thread. The work is impeccable as others have stated. No idea how he makes money as he paid $23 to ship the parts back AND he gave me a nice knife, an Izhmash sticker and a set of gas port gauges. All my Saiga internals work will be done by Pauly.
  6. Got my parts back today. Took about 12 weeks.
  7. I'll give you the local guy discount. I'm up in West Chester.
  8. Thanks guys. Yes, I love the way it turned out. I wish I had the money (and safe space) to keep all my "labors of love", but I'm just a working man. On to the next!
  9. It's been a blast building up this gun from its humble beginnings, but I'm ready for a new project. This is a July 2011 Legion USA gun and ran the low brass (except for the Wal-Mart Winchester bulk) right out of the box. I've added all the goodies to make this a sweet, sweet S-12 that looks as good as it shoots. Part list: Tromix Extended Charging Handle Tromix Skeleton Stock Tromix Trigger Guard Tapco Single Hook FCG CSS Performance Puck CSS Internal Receiver Block CSS Standard Folding Mechanism CSS Axis Pin Retaining Plate CSS Modified BHO Lever Hogue Finger Groove Black Pi
  10. I am a member at Middletown and at a private indoor range. No shotguns at the indoor place unfortunately. Middletown tolerates shotguns on the rifle range, but with conditions: can't shoot at the target holders (dirt only), have to pick up all shells, not too crazy about rapid fire. PM me if you have a better place. I'd like to take it out again.
  11. More specifically, here in Russia.
  12. I just got a Chaos Titan and am very pleased with the quality. Compared to most modern online businesses, they are not too chatty. I backordered in late October and got my iniital automated responses. The next day my credit card was charged. I heard nothing from them until my shipping email arrived in late December. Cameron did respond to status inquiries in the Chaos forum every now and then, but I heard nothing nor did I ask. As others said, it's a great product and worth the wait. They are always backordered for a reason. If you want a warm fuzzy every now and then from Chaos, you're ou
  13. I had it running flawlessly before before the latest round of parts and except for the Winchester stuff it runs the same now. I've locked down all the loose stuff so should be able to concentrate on shooting the next time. I think with a final bit of filing the Chaos will be dialed in. It is a very nice piece and was worth the two month wait. And yes, I do plan on getting the internals done. The journey is the reward.
  14. I think there was one heading my way, but he tripped on his pants and didn't make it. Saved by bad fashion!
  15. Hey, I resemble that remark! Nice gun BTW but muzzle break sucks, you should send it to me. I know what to do with it. Around here I could have said: ...had some fat Harley riders, but I repeat myself. No offense meant. No!!!! I love that brake. It looks even uglier now with the grey powder residue all over it. I need to file a little more so it will snap in without a final whack. It's very close, but I ran out of time last night. This morning I installed the little "side stabilizer" set screws and loctited them in. That Chaos rail is a very nice piece. I'm very impressed w
