  1. I'm with Dolomite, melonite is not a finish/coating. It's a treatment that penetrates the metal's surface and case hardens the material while giving the surface a nice black color. While it may be possible for some chemicals to strip away the black color from the surface, I doubt they can remove the metal's hardening. I have 3 other rifles, a POF P308, an AR15 with an Adams Arms upper and a Sig 556R, with melonited barrels and other parts and I have yet to see any adverse effects on them from any cleaners or solvents. Thanks for the suggestion Lupin8or but I'm looking for something that wi
  2. Hello, I recently purchased a couple of TWS handguards for my rifles. They look great but come with bare stainless steel gas tubes (I don't like anything bare except skin ). I was thinking about sending the tubes out to get melonited for durability and looks. I e-mailed some companies last week after searching on the web but haven't received any responses yet. I'm guessing my order would be too small for companies that deal with large orders. Does anybody know of any companies that melonite small batches?
  3. I'm looking to get matching BattleComp or King Armory muzzle brakes for my 3 rifles: an AR, a Saiga in 7.62 and a Saiga in .223. The AR and 7.62 are pretty straightforward but I'm debating whether I should have the S .223's barrel threaded in 1/2x28 or M14x1.0LH. How much would the brake's effectiveness be diminished if I used a 7.62 brake on a .223 rifle? Does anybody know if King Armory brakes have a lot of side blast?
  4. I'm selling 4 brand-new AGP 8 round mags for the S-12. I bought the last 4 8 rounders on AGP's website a couple of months ago but have no use for them right now. Asking $40 each plus shipping. I'd like to sell them in sets of 2 or all 4. Payment can be made through Paypal. PM me if you'd like a shipping estimate. Thanks for looking.
  5. Hello, up for sale is a Mississippi Auto Arms extended quad rail for a Saiga 12. It was installed on my gun for several months but only taken to the range 2-3 times, rest of the time it was in a gun case. Asking $130 plus shipping. Also up for sale is a brand-new Red Jacket Firearms Immobilizer muzzle brake for the Saiga 12. I actually received this a couple weeks ago but am unable to use it (my barrel has been cut with a JTE comp brake welded on and the new brake is too short). Asking what I paid: $90 plus shipping. Payment can be made through Paypal. Feel free to PM me for a ship
  6. I usually go to parallax.com or solar tactical. I have 5 brand new Chinese steel AK 10 round mags I'm thinking of selling if you're interested.
  7. Hello, I'm looking to sell a Vltor collapsible stock adapter (milspec) and Magpul ACS stock. They were on my gun for a few months but only taken to the range two or three times. Gun was in a case the rest of the time. Asking $140 shipped for both or $85 shipped for the stock and $65 shipped for the adapter. Payment can be made through PayPal marked as machine parts or if you're an eBay member I can start an auction for you. Stock is mint, the adapter has one small nick. Thanks for looking.
  8. Hello, I'm looking to sell a Mississippi Auto Arms Saiga 12 Quad Rail. The rail was on my gun for a few months but only taken to the range two or three times. Gun was in a case the rest of the time. Asking $150 shipped, payment can be made through PayPal marked as machine parts or if you're an eBay member I can start an auction for you. Rail has one tiny nick that I touched up, other than that it's mint.
  9. Hello all, I'm a 33 yr old electrician from Monterey County, CA. I've been lurking around for a few months and was able to find most of the info I needed using the search box, until now. I recently purchased a 7.62x39 Saiga to complement my Saiga 12. I'm interested in having an AK-105 style FSB/GB installed on my rifle and was wondering if it would work on a full length rifle (16") or if I'd be better off having a 'smith cut my front sight off and welding it to the gas block? I was also wondering if you guys could recommend someone to do the work and cerakote my rifle, preferably a site sponso
