  1. Gonna use that blog in my FB rant on gun control. Thanks saltydecimator
  2. Was thinking about ways that I could bring my weapons into code (like in CA Ar's) That could also be returned to manufactures specs. The box magazine has been vilified. I thought some kind of detachable tube fed mag that would make the Saiga look less like an "assault weapon", would help keep it under the radar. You are also very right dustindu44, this is a ridiculous conversation. Could become necessary at some point though, and better ready than not.
  3. So was kicking around some ideas for my gun collection if Illinois ever gets their AWB off the ground. One of them was converting my Saiga and AK collection to featureless bolt actions. That being said if I channeled the gas that would normally operate the bolt out of the weapon or through the use of some type of gas plug blocked the port. Would the bolt stay locked in position so that I would have to manually operate it, or would the lugs come unlocked? For the magazine issue I was thinking about a tube feed like a .22 that would replace the handguard, or a tube feed like on a lever a
  4. What about a california AR pistol grip buttstock. You could move the control group forward and then your only evil feature would be the magazine. with a few mods something like this might work. Here's a pic of a featureless AK grip.
  5. Pushed back due to lack of votes. http://herald-review.com/news/state-and-regional/democrats-pull-plug-on-gun-ammo-bans/article_a078a2a0-55d8-11e2-949f-0019bb2963f4.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  6. Lame duck AWB, covers just about ever firearm made except revolvers. Vote hits senate on the 3rd. Lets make some calls here folks. http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/fulltext.asp?DocName=09700HB1263sam006&GA=97&SessionId=84&DocTypeId=HB&LegID=57242&DocNum=1263&GAID=11&Session
  7. assualt weapons ban return to stock configuration?
  8. I'm in agreement but, baby steps. Just like these rights are erroded slowly. Thats how they will return. I'll take this victory and ask for more next time. Heres one of the articals on it for those that did'nt see it. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-us-appeals-court-strikes-down-states-concealedcarry-ban-20121211,0,7034171.story
  9. Federal court today has up held Concealed carry here in Illinois. State has 180 days to come up with a law that allows it. Lets see what happens.
  10. That's beautiful, I'd sure love to see a pic of the weld so I could try that front sight myself. That trigger is amazing too, I might have to order another one to play around with.
  11. The IL Senate has voted to override Gov. Quinn's veto of SB681 by a vote of 49-4-0
  12. yes sir, problem we have I believe is that they don't have to go through whole process again. I think that they only need to do 1 more debate and vote.
  13. Water filtration is all about common sense. Take any clean found container and put a small hole in the bottom for drainage. Start with an old Tshirt, layer of sand, then an old T shirt, a thin layer of charcoal, an old Tshirt, a layer of gravel. Repeat these steps as needed depending on the size of your container and the size of the hole in the bottom. A smaller hole will slow the drainage and catch more particles. This process just makes the water clear, it does not make it clean. boiling or solar purification is still required. For small scale water clarity use a centrifugal method. Fi
