    AGP Mags

Besides needing 40-50 rounds through each to really break them in, they've been ideal. AGP's are fantastic. But really, twist my arm to break in a few more. Really. That'd be torture. KW
  2. Yeah, mine came like that too when I got it from Gilbert's last spring. What hadn't already flaked off in shipping soon did upon firing, but at least its consistent. Just on the pins and BHO, no trouble with the finish on the reciever. But like you say, *shrug* no biggie. Birchwood Casey Super Blue and a cotton swab did wonders. I use it on M44/M38 parts because it's very close to the Russian black arsenal paint. KW
  3. I noticed there's a lack of black paint on the bolt hold-open and some of the rivets, or it flaked off... *shrugs* Besides that, no defects... That's a good thing. KW

    Stocks

People get stern (not hostile) when a post appears "lazy." Usually that includes not referencing your research if you've done any, clarifying exactly what you do and don't know about what you're asking. People who are in-the-know get miffed about such things occasionally because there really are people that casually waltz in and ask a simple question and just sit back and wait for a response. *shrugs* Forum etiquette and socializing can be difficult. To answer your question, there are many stocks to choose from, most AK furniture will fit as long as you move the trigger group forward
  5. *laughs* Well-put. KW
  6. 100% agreed. Mine took some baby-ing and about 800-1,000 rounds to really work everything in, I was very concerned and skeptical at first. Poping out the gas cylinder knob and cleaning the burnt bits really helps, but be sure you put everything back in it's original way. Mine had one strange thing, the "1" and "2" were stamped incorrectly. When I screw mine all the way down, and back it off to the first click position, it's reversed from normal, so "2" is "1," vice versa. Nothing would eject properly on "2" as I got it from the factory... and it looked like it wasn't screwed down p
  7. I like how the forum is like a therapist session for folks that can't wait for their S-12's to get in. *laughs* I can't say I was any different. Good luck guys. It's worth the wait. KW
  8. *sighs* I love coming back after a month and missing absolutely nothing. KW
  9. Collectors will love it in 100 years. KW
  10. Between the Art Deco-era nostalgia setup of the manual and the Russian variant of "Engrish," it is pretty damn funny. I annihilated my paper; I shot it. Ivan approved. KW
  11. Sounds like a hell of a shop... KW
  12. Gently rounding the sharp corners on the feed mags was key in getting my AGP's to be reliable. The edge in question is the length of the feed lips, not the outer edge, that faces inside the magazine. The edges were visibly leaving chewed marks on the extracting rim with the spring pressure being so gosh-darned heavy. They would not feed well and would hang up every other try. This was for both the magazines. Once I did very gentle and light filing (with very tiny files) and buffed the newly rounded edges with very fine sandpaper, the problem went away. They also stay in the magazine ju
  13. That's pretty much what I was thinking... ...and do. KW
  14. That is really cool of your department. Johnny Law here is really regulated on what can be carried and what cannot. KW
  15. Yeah, Vinnie the Club and Bruiser Bruno are being hired by the ATF now... Heh. KW
