  1. tritium... That did it - the "push it down" was my hangup. Thank you for that. I take license from your sig, sir: Happiness is a 'tritium' reply to a call for S12 help. -Ironbarr
  2. Second time for field strip and (again) I'm having a heck of a time reinstalling the Bolt/Bolt Support. Please - I have this field stripped now and need to know the best way to orient the bolt and exactly how to install the assembled Bolt Support/Bolt. This "book" is a bit short on info/language.

    922 compliance

You really should aquaint yourself with the 922r law. None of the above. You can buy a Saiga shotgun off the rack and shoot it loose with the factory 4 round magazine. You can have 500 4 round magazines. You'll be a 'sport' for days . . . Now when you turn into Doctor Evil and buy yourself some of those EVIL NONSPORTING Russian 8 rounders or even the INSANELY EVIL NONSPORTING 10 rounders made here in the USA or even an OH MY GOD IT"S SO EVIL IT'S EATING GODZILLA 20 ROUND DRUM!!!!!, you have to conform to the 922r laws. It all falls down to "sporting purpose" (which are allowed to b

Whoa, there fellas. Are you saying these "sporters" bought off a U.S. dealer's rack have 13 parts and 3 have to go immediately if not sooner or the jolly boys from uncle will jump on your deal? -or- Are you saying that an off-the-rack sporter is A-OK as is but if you want special features they have to be U.S. made and replace at least 3 imported parts?????

  6. It posts a picture of what it's talking about or it gets the hose... .308 WIN Brass is generally thinner than NATO spec brass and 7.62x51 NATO chambers are generally looser than .308 WIN chambers to allow for combat conditions. You are probably getting more case expansion in the S-308 chamber using .308 than you would using NATO spec brass. If you combine that with a slight machining flaw in the chamber or some kind of crud or oil or various and sundry other gremlins that may be in the chamber, that might explain the "ripple" you speak of... Again, a pic might help... Also - I have seen
  7. I wonder... can you tell me if your S .308 has both calibers stamped in as macbeau suggests? Thanks.
  8. A growing interest in the S .308. An ammo question. I've been reading about the difference(s) in Win .308 and the 7.62-51. Seems to be some possible important considerations in using both rounds... is the S-308 based on the Win cartridge, the /51, or can both be safely fired and be effective? Re: http://www.fulton-armory.com/308.htm Your input appreciated. -AndyB
  9. Thanks, 1911. Concerned since I am holding one for future mod.
  10. How long should the S12 be kept stored in its original box (with that kind of oil paper they use)??
  11. To show that most anything can be rationalized: I could believe if a factory shoot test is really done they would start in #1 to prove heavy loads work properly, then shift to softer loads to see if "this" S-12 runs lite loads in#1; then to #2 to prove lite loads, and ending there with minimum handling. Then again...
  12. Yes, #2 is twice the gas. Also see here: Tromix S-12 Service Tips. Roger that. Thanks for the input.
  13. Just checked mine... scewed in tight the # 2 just passed detent.... backed out to detent. I suppose that means maximum gas pressure to run the bolt using low-level loads - backing out to #1 would reduce gas pressure allowing for high-level loads. If the above is the correct analysis, please confirm. Thanks.
  14. When replacing/reinstalling the puck, is there a particular side to go in first?
