Cobra 76 two 2,677
http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?act=an...p;f=42&id=4 Lately we have been seeing more an more people, who are NOT contributors, "bending" the rules and cleverly posting ads in different forums, including this one, where instead of actually starting a thread saying they have an item they would like to sell, they "fish" for buyers or trades by saying they have an item and would like to know it's value (or something similar). Then of course the thread evolves into "how much do you want for it?" or similar, and before you know it, a non contributor has successfully skirted the rules and sold or traded his gun or whatever and made no donation to the site what so ever. This has to stop. We are not trying to be the fun police or Nazi party. RULES ARE RULES. From now on when someone makes this mistake (on purpose or unwittingly, it doesn't matter) they will receive a formal warning and their thread will be immediately deleted and not be allowed reposted even if they do contribute. There has to be some responsibility taken.

Bill 0
Hey Cobra ,can I set up a monthly or whatever subscription to the forum through paypal? Is mailing it in still a viable way to do it? I do not want my bankcard used as a credit card for auto withdraws-has burned me in the past. Thanks Bud!

We have different levels of business membership accounts. You need to contact Makc directly to discuss the details. It seems there is a small delay on how long it takes to be recognized as a contributor after making your donation via paypal or CC. I have gotten several complaints about this lately and people asking how long it takes. I will attempt to get in touch with Max on the phone and see what's up.

wlnt 2
+1 Cobra, This is a lot like what you are saying, but just a little different. If you look at some of the "members" with low postings count on the WTT/WTS page, you can look at their other postings and see a "did I get a good deal" or "is this too much to pay". I have a problem with people who have nothing to contribute, or no real interest in the forum, except for making a few bucks from other members. Unless of course they are "real sponsors" of the forum (like TROMIX or SAIGA-12,etc). louielouie p.s. How much should a regular member be contributing (financially) a year to keep the forum going? I don't suppose Makc will get help from every member but if at least half the mbr list contributed what would be the slice of pie say.. per quarter to each person to lift Makc's burden? Koliadko 207
I don't think it takes more than $5 to be considered a contributor but it takes more than that to keep this forum up and going. I've given $40 and I've only been a member since February. AND, I haven't benefited financially. I just love this forum and want to help towards it's upkeep. I'm in a financial bind right now but will give as much as I can as soon as I can.

I'm trying though. That's very noble what you are offering and I know Max will dig it. I've inquired to him about some contribution issues and I'm waiting to hear back. Will post some info when I know something. Hats off to anyone who will bump their own contributions without being asked. That really shows how much you care.
Bill 0
Cool, I will keep any on here or pm me with what the best way to do it is.
d0lphin2 0
I think that the contribution is a noble thing to do regardless of people selling. If I am going to buy something from someone with 2 posts I would be leary. Even if I was asked to contribute more I would to help the forum. I think this is the best forum compared to a lot of the others. We have an unique little group!

greatmoose 4
It's not payola, all it is is this: if you want to sell something on the boards, make a contribution. It can be as little as $5. Not that big a deal.

Dude, You've been going on for months now, trying to sell mods to AGP mags and offering conversion work............all the while telling Cobra and Ben you'll be sending in your contribution right away........... Apparently you just haven't had time........(or intent) But now for you to come and say you weren't aware of what had to be done to sell on the forum.....WTF, dude......... and then to classify it as PAYOLA???? Just go ahead and send in the goddamned $5, and everyone can go on with their business..........(fucking lawyers..............) Edited October 13, 2007 by Jeaux E
Cobra 76 two 2,677
Payola fucking Crayola! It's not my problem if you don't spend enough time on here to stay abreast of wtf is going on dude. If you spent half as much time when you are on here, READING instead of bitching about this or that or making false claims, you would KNOW what's up and you wouldn't have to keep asking people to direct you to information you want to know. You know like a year or so ago when you kept asking the same question over and over and over..."Where can I get some of those AGP mags????!! Where is the order list? How do I get on it??" Now you just bitch about the damned things and say NONE of them work without you fixing them. Bla bla bla... Like Joe said, just send in the damned contribution you promised to send in months ago and stop whining...
Koliadko 207
Agreed. I don't even sell or trade here but I found it quite simple how to contribute. And I didn't need anyone to tell me why. I are a graduate.

Bill 0
Cobra-any update on the best way to do a contribution yet?? I will mail it to the address listed on the contribution thread BUT I want it to make it to the correct people-not have it get lost and end up 'supporting a medrasa school'- thanks Bud! Cobra 76 two 2,677
http://forum.saiga-12.com/donations/ Try the old fashioned snail mail method. It works for me.
Bill 0
Hey Cobra, just checked this thread, I will be sending off a check this coming week for like 20 bucks and go from there. Probably do another in december,etc....want to see what 'lag time' will be between sending it and my name showing/status changed to contributor..
Bvamp 604
my partner and accountant have informed me that a BIG ISSUE with checks from you guys is that you all dont put your damn user account names on there. the login name you use, I mean, if its different than your display name, which you can change any time. when you send a check or MO into our accountant, PUT YOUR USER ID ON IT PLEASE!!! NOT ON A NOTE! put it on the memo to the check, and maybe also on a note with the check, if you guys could. it would make life so much simpler for us to add you in as a contributer, and it should only be about a week, week+1/2 if you do that. Im still waiting on a lot of people to PM me information that I need to verify thier donations to add them as contributers. the other staff CANNOT handle this. Only myself or Makc (Makc is away on business, so you have to deal with me instead right now) can verify personal information with our accountant, and then change your user account through administrative controls to reflect the donations.
