How much heavier is that than the poly choke? Is it made of SS, Mild or alum?

It is heavier, but it didn't show on my people scale. It is carbon steel, so it may be hardened. I forgot to mention, I'll engrave the buyer initials in the top pocket for free if desired...

I've decided to go with the polychoke, my custom tank brake is for sale. It is a slip fit on an .883 barrel. It is tapped for 2 setscrews, or you may plug weld thru the holes for permanence. It is the tank style in this thread

Can this tank brake work with a regular birdshot without ricocheting it back to the shooter or nearby bystanders?

It has no restriction past the barrel, the chamber after the bbl stops is larger than the bbl ID. This would have no affect on the shot or pattern, only recoil and blast.
