First off... Thanks everyone for keeping eyes on the board and using the report a post option when there is something needing attention on the board...
I would like to make a request, When it comes to Spammers or Non Con Ads if you Report a post... PLEASE post in the thread letting people know you have already R.A.P.ed the offender. A Mod or Admin will be along shortly to bore them 40 over... That will help keep us from getting a bunch of PM's on the same topic...

I always have done that. And I used to ask people to do that when I moderated another IPS board. A simple "Reported." in the thread has the effect of killing the thread and ensuring other people do not report it needlessly.

You see that "Report" button down there? Every post has one.



On spam posts (or other types that aren't allowed here), you click it and then type SPAM or whatever and send it on its way. . .

In that case, there should be two buttons then....

1. Report a Post
2. Report a Thread

Sometimes when just one post (or maybe a couple by the same member) gets reported, suddenly the whole thread goes bye- bye....

Now don't get me wrong....sometimes that can be a great thing..... Other times though...someone may be reporting one abusive member who's taking a perfectly good thread, off in the wrong direction, insults the crap out of someone and gets reported for it..... Then the thread is just gone. If that happens, not only does the abusive poster never get anything said directly to them, as was the intended purpose of reporting them...but then you have all these other guys who were involved in a very interesting conversation, sitting around with nothing to talk about and going WTF!?

I love this feature... on another board, we actually used to have a running competition about who could rack up the most spammers marked for elimination; the joint was rather spam-vulnerable and infested, and I ended up reporting so many spam posts they made me a Mod so I could nuke 'em on my own say-so.

How about a policy of deleting posts that quote spam posts while leaving the spammer's links intact (I've been seeing a lot of that lately)? Because those embedded spammy links were what the spammer wanted in the first place... It doesn't do any good to delete the original spam if their BS lives on.
