I just got home last night(well this morning at 300). I must say I was surprised by the turnout (about 100k), but very dissapointed that we were invited by our Rep's to come and "walk the halls of Congress and show our support for voting NO on the Healthcare bill as it is the end of freedom in it's present form. To be met with barricades and Capitol Police with M4's and sharpshooters on the rooftops of several buildings. The last I heard the Capital was public property and you were welcome to enter and watch your congress critters in action. I can understand the security problems with 100k folks wandering through the building at once, but groups should have been able to enter. It was evident we were not welcome. Our rep's that invited the gathering on the west steps, came out and talked to us, but were surrounded by SS and other guards. I really felt like I was in a different country. If we would have taken the stance that one guard did, we would have been arrested for inciting to riot!
I heard today that we must have made a difference as they have postponed the vote from this week until they can be sure to get it passed. It was the first time I have heard a member of the house call another member or members socialist, even when it was true.

Hello

Goodon'ya, Brother!

I've heard many different numbers as far as turnout, but I can relate, I was at the 9/12 event, and we went through the same thing.
We didn't meet that kind of opposition though, probably because we kinda caught 'em off-guard a little bit. Plus, we weren't trying to enter any buildings, since it was Saturday and all.
I think as hard as those sissies are trying to appear stoic about it, they are pretty scared of what they are seeing. On one hand they are being threatened by their own party's upper echelon, whose influence is steadily waning, and on the other, their REAL bosses (that would be us....)whose power and numbers appear to be growing every day. Tough choice. Tough spot they put themselves in. I sure pity them. Yeeaah, right.

Set 'em all on a sharp fence-post ass-first. Except that Barney Frank guy, he'd enjoy it too damn much.

Before coming to DC, look up the history of protests and how they were treated. ESPECIALLY the 'bonus riots'. Col. Pershing became Gen. Pershing after he machine gunned the Veterans who came to protest because Congress stole their bonus they were promised to extend their enlistment until the end of the Spanish American war. In '68 there were tanks and armed troops everywhere, with sandbagged M2's at every entrance to the Capitol and the White House. When the farmers brought their tractors The Park Police let them park on the Mall - in the morning the entire Mall was surrounded by Metro's reserve bus fleet - many of which had their doors open to reveal the machine guns pointed at the farmers, of course the press was confined to the few places where those could not be seen.
Make no mistake, DC may be the bastion of Democracy -BUT - it is, was, and will always be an ARMED bastion! As AA-recurved so aptly points out the way to get the attention of Congress is to wield your vote! The pen IS mightier than the sword!
Let every member of Congress know that our vote is the scalpel that we will use to cut out the cancer in DC that bleeds our hard earned tax dollar into the gutter.

I was also at 9-12. Make no mistake, they knew we were coming then. They had several months to prepare. They just didn't know how many! I passed park police who are responsible for keeping records of numbers, not officially anymore, but still do. I asked them at 9-12 how many so far(this was at 11:30) and was told 1.5 million so far. I was told this time by a Capital Policeman that it was the largest protest crowd or any kind of crowd to march on the capitol in history.
I personally was spotting nice tree limbs. I thought we might have to go back and hang some DC wind chimes to get their attention!
They had no idea how many would show this time as we only had 3 days to organize. I don't think they thought it would be so many.
I'm also surprised that you think the upper echelon of DC think that "We the People" are their bosses. Pelosi, Reid, Franks, and others would not be so brazen if they didn't think they were untouchable and we the people, who have allowed thm to stay in there this long. have allowed them to believe that!

Well, that's not exactly what I meant....I mean, eventually, that will be the inevitable conclusion, but they will deny it 'till the bitter end....

I still think someone shoulda asked Bachmann, "WTF? You invite us here and then have a Welcoming Committee of SWAT in riot-gear? What kind of game are you damn people playing?"

Big Sal,
Either you need to learn to read or I need to learn to write. I think I stated that we were 1.5 million + at the 9-12 march, not the Thursday gathering. I seem to remember saying that we were between 90- 100k on Thursday. I have posted on a couple of boards and might be confused, but I don't think so. I will go back in the posts and read however.

Ok, I re read it and I was correct. The pic you have there is of Thursdays rally. On 9-12, the entire street to the right of the mall from the Ronald Ragan Building, the west courtyard and the mall were packed. We had to start the march 1.5 hours early as we were tying up traffic past our permit. We took 50 bus loads of folks from NC alone, not counting the people that drove. Texas sent 53 buses. I personally met people from all 50 states(yes, unlike your president, I know how many states we have). You can believe what ever news org. that took that pic, or someone that was there. Google it on youtube or BBC news to get the real story and pics. Since the Dem's already admitted controlling the press, I'm really surprised that you would take the American press's word for anything!

According to the DC fire department on 9-12 you guys had about 60,000 people. NOT 1.5 Million:

Nice try though. Just face it, you guys are a *SMALL* but voal minority being manipulated by people like Glenn Beck.

Nice try though...

You tuned to the All Obama Channel and believed what they said? Jeeze! You just lost all the respect I ever had for you. Glenn Beck has nothing to do with anything. I probably haven't watched him 10 times. I know he started the party on 9-12, but resistnet.com, wethepeople.org, along with my site northcaroliiniansforthepreservationoftheconstitution, is where I get the info that motivates me!
Besides, the DC fire dept doesn't keep the attendance records, the parks department does. Nice try at projecting a socialist agenda, but it won't get done while I'm breathing. I thought I'd give you a real look, then put you head back up your ass. Your more comfortable there.

I am not an Obama supporter kiddo. The picture above is not 1.5 million people it is 60k. Now, are you backing down from your 1.5 million people statement or not? I mean be realistic, your propaganda effort is pathetic.

Kiddo? Gee, Thanks! I haven't been called that for 50 years! Nope not backing down. Why should I? I was there! Were you? The pic I posted was 60k? Good grief don't ever count my money! The grassy area at west end of the capital is close to the size of the inside of the Georgia Dome.

The "kiddo" was out of line, I hope you accept my apology. However, facts are facts, thats not 1.5 million. Just admit you lied so we can get back to business.

Well, the Wicked Witch of San Fransicko did it--now we have to keep the pressure on in the Senate and try to support Tom "Dr. No" Coburn in the derailment effort--he's become our only hope...

I watched it in realtime--I'm in one of the classes that's marked for "Death Panels" right behind the elderly, despite that I'm smarter than all of the candidates on the '08 Presidential/Veep tickets on both sides except maybe Palin. (She was the only one I couldn't find numbers for--it was like "Obama 129, McCain 138, Biden 146... My God, you all spectacularly SUCK!")

Pray, gentlemen; the elderly, the neurologically atypical, the dissident--we're all living on borrowed time, and our last chance is that Coburn & Co. kill this damn piece of Marxtard bullshit before it kills us.

I will continue to pray, march, write letters and anything else I can do against this, but alas, I'm feared we're screwed! The upcoming elections will not sway the Senate.
