Help
Finally got off my dead ass and went to get a physical, only been about 15 years since the last one! Cholesterol, liver function ect. very good, however PSA is 8.6, and Doc says it should be 4 or less. Now I have to go see the Urologist - hoping for the best, but big C of the prostate is the 800# gorilla all of us old farts must watch for.
Like the title says - get that physical you have been procrastinating against.

Yup , same here used to be like that, but now since I got diabetes I dont procastinate things any more
I do the do and if something is wrong I say, wring it on instead of trying to avoid stuff.

PSA is very nonspecific, while true it can be elevated with prostate cancer, other things such as chronic prostatitis resulting from time spent "piggin" in San Diego or even garden variety prostate enlargement can cause its elevation.
As an aside,for prostate enlargement and to those who are losing their hair, Saw Palmetto extract is a natural and potentially cheaper alternative to finesteride (Propecia). Also for weightlifters, MMAs, etc it boosts free testosterone by blocking the 5a-reductase conversion to DHT (dihydrtestosterone) which has been shown to greatly aid in male pattern baldness.

I've been planning on going but like everyone else I procrastinate. I'm not sure what age I am suppossed to start the prostate exam, I just turned 32 one week ago today. I have been dragging ass tired and unmotivated alot lately, kind of hope it's caused by low Testoterone and I get hooked up with HGH and Test replacement therapy. Be nice to get back into my fighting shape from a few years back. I will be changing doc's once it's time for the prostate exam though. My Doctor has banana hands!
