Hello all. got out to the range finally with the new posp 4x.

Had a blast, used brown bear for the first 90 rounds with no problem. Had a little friendly competition going with my buddy and started using wolf mil classic fmj.
Had three out of ten from the box fail to fire. The primer had a ding right in the middle but no bang. I didn't have any more brown bear with me and our time was up so I didn't get to troubleshoot any more.

FYI I have the reduced power spring from CSS.
Any ideas. Bad ammo? spring need adjusting? suggestions for troubleshooting on my next trip?

Thanks.

On a related note I was given my Dads beautiful S&W 686. It had been a shooter. Two out of every three Double action pulls, nothing. No probs with the single action. I was down in the dumps leaving the range. I don't have extra money for gunsmiths right now.
But a google led me to check a "strain screw" that can back out. Sure enough mine was about half way out. After screwing it back in I can feel a big differen in the action. So I'm pretty sure its fixed. Tragedy averted.

Thanks for any advice.

I don't think I've ever had a FTF with Brown Bear. I've had a few with Wolf FMJ that've been soft hits like you describe. I usually just load them back up and go for round 2.

More likely hard primers than anything else. Brown bear is cheap ammo - not that there's anything wrong with cheap. If you continue to get FTFs with Brown Bear, try upgrading to something with a soft primer.

Good luck!

Wolf should fire fine. I have shot thousands of rounds with only a hand full of bad rounds. My guess would be mainspring like saigafreake said. Do you still have the original? I have also heard of people bending the legs of the spring to put more tension on it creating a heavier spring, but I have never done this myself. I just use the factory spring.

Thanks for the input. I'm leaning toward spring problem. The ammo is less than a year old. purchased from either cabellas or midway and storesd indoors. I had not heard of anyone having trouble with these springs but it sounds like you have Saigafreake.

Anyone ever had to adsjust the spring? Do I have to take it out? I do have the original still but would like to avoid having to pull the guts out.

I have read about this brfore. The reduced power spring and the hard primers on the Wolf can cause this.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

i would think it is a mix of the spring and a harder primer also. arent military ammos given harder primers to prevent accidental fire when jumping to the ground or other ways that cause impact?

Its a tunable part. Test your weapon and correct.
