Here is another 5 shot group of the Tula 150gr FMJ at 100 yards (set #3)..

post-8775-028628600 1286045010_thumb.jpg

The squares on the targets are 1/2 inch...

The smallest group is 1 7/8" high by 1 1/4" wide with the Winchester PP 150gr in #2 set..

The Federal 168gr OTM #2 set while having 4 shots in only 1 3/8" high by 3/4" wide group the flyer to the right pulled it to 2 7/16" wide. (not counting the 1st shot PUSH to the left.. :cryss:)

The Tula 150gr FMJ did a square 2 1/2" by 2 1/4" in set #2 also.. set #1 was smaller but I didn't measure.. :cryss:

I think the Winchester 150gr PP is the CHEAP ($18) way to get good groups thus far..

Followed by the Fed AE 168OTM ($22-24) and then Hornady 168gr A-Max ($24-32)..

Set #1 of the Tula and Set #3 (5 shot group) were very good.. set #2 kinda sucked.. but at $5/box..

In set #1 for each pic the circle has 1/2" rings.. just an FYI on that.

Enjoy... comments..??.

Thanks CK..

Came out pretty well overall.. this shows what a 4 shot group at 100 yards with a 308 Saiga from a simple bag rest can do..

I just shoot and post pictures..

Is it 1 MOA... nope.. is it under 2MOA.. IMHO yes.. in the right hands for under 5 shots..

if you let it cool you can probably get more out of it.

You can see in the videos once I get rolling with the shots after the 1st volley, I don't wait 30 seconds between shots.. and I didn't really wait 3 minutes between ammo changes either..

If I were 'sniping' with this the first shot I know would be on the :dollar:.

Firefights are won with sheer firepower.. (old Nam vet told me that). :super:

Still have some rounds left for 2 weeks from now to go and do this again.. it was a FUN day also with the Shotty'...

Thanks for the PM's folks.

Forgot to mention the temp was like 65 with 8-10 mph winds.. this was at 11am - 12pm yesterday.

Shots were done 4 rounds in 10-12 seconds.. so yes.. no waiting for me.. :killer:

Next set of target(s) for re-testing... in a few weeks..

top left for setting up and verification of zero shots. :super:

This was shot at the same pace as all the sets/volleys..

Here is 2 more targets for next outing..

Right one (with 2 targets) is for 200 yards.. left one is undetermined as of this point.. (crappy cell pic)

Great shooting Al.

One thing I would recommend though. With rapid fire, you still need to know where the rounds will go with barrel heating.

Try this technique. Have two targets; one for rapid fire and a control target. With a cold barrel, fire at least one round at the control target and mark the hit in your notebook. Then, do your quick fire shooting at the other target, saving one or two rounds to fire at the control target. Mark those hits as well.

Back in the old days with my Mini-14, I used this technique to be able to stay on target no matter how many rounds I fired and how fast. And, that sucker would string up and right badly with a hot barrel.

Now that is an excellent idea since each rifle will be a bit different. Up and right sounds about like mine.
