My dad drove a Sherman tank in WW2 with the 20th Armored Div. and brought home a lot of capture items,
I think most of them was from the liberation of Dachau. He passed a few years ago and I'm not sure if he ever knew what this one was, most everything else is German and easy to identify, this one has been a bit of a mystery. Thought I'd see if any of you had a clue or could point me to a web site? I've talked to quite a few people at local shows, best guestimate is Austrian and possibly the badge and ribbon were mismatched.
I'm not looking to sell......just looking through some of his stuff and thought I'd try to figure this one out.

The ribbon reads in German "25 year member" of what I'm unsure. Hey, it's a start!

After some research, I'm guessing that it commemorates the Buckower Kleinbahn (BKB). It's a railway about 50 klicks from Berlin in Märki Switzerland. Though it was built earlier, on June 1, 1929, it became a shareholder operation. Later the German reich became shareholders as well. The 25th anniversary would therefore have been commemorated on June 1, 1944- right before D-Day.

USpride, your post has me wondering. Dauchau was a Nazi extermination camp and could have connections with the railway. Also, the badge was made in Munich by a maker that did a lot of SS badges and medals.
Deschler & Sohn (firm that made it)
Munchen 9 (Location of maker, Munich)

The lion on the front looks very Finnish in nature which doesn't make much sense and I can't get any kind of I.D. on the ribbon?

Yeah, upon first glance I suspected it was a Norwegian lion-though Finnish or slavic definitely works. I'm at a loss.
