"Believe"
Following a private party on June 13, 1997 celebrating the Red Wings’ Stanley Cup triumph, Konstantinov, along with Russian hockey legend Viacheslav Fetisov, and team masseuse Sergei Mnatsakanov hired a limousine to drive them home. The driver, Richard Gnida, whose license was suspended at the time for drunk driving, lost control of the limousine and hit a tree on the median of Woodward Avenue, just outside the Detroit city limits. Konstantinov spent several weeks in a coma before finally pulling through. He also suffered from serious head injuries and paralysis while Fetisov escaped with relatively minor injuries and was able to play the following season. Mnatsakanov sustained heavy head injuries and also spent some time in a coma; he has had a considerably more difficult recovery. The driver was charged with and convicted of driving with a suspended license.

When I was a kid and lived in Russia a was a fan of ЦСКА which translated as (Ц) Cental (С) Sport (К) Club of the (A) Army

Sorry Juggernaut, I was married to a Russian a**hole for 20 years. Not a big fan of Russians.

I'm not too familiar with Russian hockey, though I do know the teams that you mentioned and I remember all too well the Redwings post-season tragic accident. You've got some sweet jerseys! My favorite Russians (other than Anna Kournikova) are Alex Ovechkin and Alexander Semin. Yes, I'm a huge Caps fan (give us a year or two).

Why is Red Army printed in English?

They played a north American series.

i actually saw a Russian Hockey game once, and i must say- as an unashamed hockey fan myself- it was nice to see it played in a country where they truly care about the sport. and before any Canadians think ill of me, allow me to clarify that i am aware and appreciate their unquestionable love of the fine sport of hockey, but when i see the Russians play it, it reminds me of the kind of rabidity that an American audience would have if we loved hockey the way we love football.

for example: the Russians have cheerleaders.... for hockey...
