Well I have used a tom of programs out there and well

one of the easies and reliable programs out there is

Skype, is free and is free to talk from pc to pc all day if

you want, it can be use to call regular phones from your pc

that cost some money but is cheaper than a regular phone

and really good on long distance.

well here is the link

http://www.skype.com/

I am just concern that we are in 2007 and the brothers

still don’t get full use of there internet connection

specially people with DSL and Cable.

I have notice the gun community don’t really takes

full capabilities of the many recourse of the net, is not

only e-mail and PM out there but hey is a shit load of stuff

that can be done to help exchange ideas and files on how to do sutff

among the brother hood of the gun, that other people

is all ready using, I think why don’t take what is out there

and use for the good of the gun community.

If any one knows about other stuff please post it

all for the good of the gun community.

Telephone conversations over the telephone network have some legal prohibitions from interception. Internet communications have a lesser standard.

I have been using Skype since January as my only LL . Works great for me. It cost $60 a year for full service which includes a phone number. If you buy a USB adapter for $30 on ebay you can use your regular phones. I have a base phone plugged into the adapter which has 3 wireless units as well. You will need DSL or Cable to use voip.

Positives ...Cost, functionallity, fowarding functions, take your phone anywhere if you have a laptop and hotspot, free long distance

negatives...no caller ID support as of yet(in or out), No enhanced 911, ease of initial setup, monitored security system function if you have one, power out = no phone

All in all I have been pleased and will continue to use skype. If you have a cell phone as a backup for power outages and dont have young children where enhanced 911 would be wise I see no reason not to take advantage of the cost savings as your only LL.
