http://www.freedomfiles.org/war/fema.htmNot entirely sure about this, but the U.S. does have an incredible amount of dealings going on under the guises of otherwise innoccuous facilities.
To think that this can happen cannot be far-fetched.

Not far fetched at all... just look at all the gun control legislation lately...
"The only real power comes out of a long rifle." <-- Stalin
“One man with a gun can control 100 without one. ” <-- Vladimir Lenin
Once they remove the means of deterrence, .GOV can do whatever they wish, if you disagree, some ARMED UNIONIZED .GOV employee will happily escort you to a resettlement camp.

Freedomfiles and Prison Planet.com are two projects of a guy named Alex Jones. He is a big conspiracy theorist, on 9/11, the 'shadow government', the Illuminati, New World Order, the Kennedy assassination, and many other topics. I take it with a grain of salt, but if even a small portion of what they talk about is true, the world is a strange and sick place. If nothing else it makes fascinating reading.

While we have been building camps, it is doubtful that they will be used for evil purposes. Chances are, when Iraq hits the bottom and we pull out, we are going to be moving fuck tons of people out of Iraq along with the troops. It will be very nice to have someplace to put them while they await processing.

While I wish I could believe that, I do believe that we should hold our enemies closer than our friends (government).

I read on the net somewhere about miles and miles of underground bunkers and tunnels under the Denver airport... and how the whole place under there was set up like a huge concentration camp... Very interesting indeed...

Has someone edited out some of the posts to this thread? Seems like I recall one that talked about a very large installation in Alaska that could hold 100,000 people and deactivated Army bases that could hold up to 20,000.
It was the Alaska reference that started me thinking and looking through old notes from college days. People have been getting some wind of these detention facilities for many years complete, in many instances, with approximate locations and sizes.
Back in 1966 I attended a session of our church's annual convention. The speaker was talking about exactly this -- said 'documents' he had seen showed that the federal gov't. had already set up a number of detention facilities to include a huge one in Alaska that could hold "10's of 1,000's" of people. He said that this had been made possible as the result of several successive presidents having issued Executive Orders. Who could be put there? Apparently, anyone who "deviated from the norm". What is the "norm"? Whatever the powers-that-be want it to be. The speaker was concerned because the church denomination was/is pentecostal and many psychologists and psychiatrists have described pentecostals as being "abnormal". This would also include Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, and other groups possibly including gun entusiasts.
How about gypsies and other "deviant types"? Shades of the Third Reich?

I think those were referenced in the links above, not actually IN this post... but I may be wrong...
