DEMOCRATS TO CHANGE 185 YEAR-OLD HOUSE RULE TO ALLOW TAX HIKES WITHOUT HAVING TO VOTE

In a stunning move, House Democrats today revealed they will attempt to rewrite House rules that have gone unchanged since 1822 in order to make it possible to increase taxes and government spending without having to vote and be held accountable. House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) today vowed Republicans will use every available means to fight this unprecedented change.

“This is an astonishing attempt by the majority leadership to duck accountability for tax-and-spend policies the American people do not want,” Boehner said. “The majority leadership is gutting House rules that have been in place for 185 years so they can raise taxes and increase government spending without a vote. House Republicans will use every tool available to fight this abuse of power.”

Last November, House Democratic leaders promised the most open, ethical Congress in history:

“[W]e promised the American people that we would have the most honest and most open government and we will.” (Nancy Pelosi press stakeout, December 6, 2006)

“We intend to have a Rules Committee ... that gives opposition voices and alternative proposals the ability to be heard and considered on the floor of the House.” (Steny Hoyer in CongressDaily PM, December 5, 2006)

The rules House Democrats are seeking to change have not been changed since 1822.
Republicans have already achieved significant legislative successes on the House floor with 11 consecutive “motion-to-recommit” victories that exposed flaws and substantively improved weaknesses in underlying Democrat bills. But rather than living by the same rules which have guided the House of Representatives for 185 years, Democrats are proposing to change the rules in order to game the system and raise taxes and increase spending without a House vote. What are House Democrats afraid of?

Isn't it amazing that the ones who call themselves 'liberals' are the biggest fascists who want to take our rights, our money and our guns? What arrogance.

This is the reason we should mobilize to stop these scums in 2008 and unseat Nasty Pelosi from House Speaker and keep Hitlery Clinton our of the White House. If we don't then the first Clinton presidency nightmare will look like child's play with worse abuses of power and a more vicious BATFE being a danger not only to our rights but to our lives.

I don't want these renegade federal agents murdering my children in the middle of the night.

I think we should round them up, lay out everything everyone of them has done and try them all in a "People's Court". Citizens would be the judge, jurry and executioner. Most of these people are guilty of highest treason and need to be punished accordingly.

thats a treasonous act, from my understanding....you can be shot or hung for that, even today.

they are going to be sorry when one of the people that dont put up with it shows up with a pair of handcuffs and a copy of the declaration of indepance with the full bill of rights.

ordinary US citizens have the right to citizen's arrest in witness to ANY criminal felonious act, act of war, or act of treason. look it up. its there, and Ive seen it.

I never thought I'd get to live out my life without it hitting the fan in this country but it's still quite amazing to watch it unfolding before my very eyes. It won't be long now...

Yeah. And the shame of it all is that I haven't even shot my Saiga yet.

This is unreal. This will continue to happen until we ALL speak up. We are the ones putting up with it. We let them go unchecked. This isn't a Republican or Democrat issue. The Republicans have slid into the toilet. Pond scum. Right above the bottom feeder Democrats. We don't do something, we'll all end up like them.
This reminds me of a joke running around. Might as well let the Iraqs use our Constitution. We certainly aren't using it.

Too many are now apathetic to .gov. They have been force fed .gov bullshit while in school and via 5th column in "higher education" institutes...

keep letting the anti's make the rules. see what happens. they want to force us to the table.
