It may not seem like a pertinent skill to have, but sometime knowledge of how things are held together and can be made to come down is a good thing. It's also how I pay for my "Gabe" bills.

we had lots of fun doing this and no body got hurt even tho there was a distinct possibility of serious injury or death at any point of this demolition. 3 days of prep and 3 days of clean up.

enjoy

Awesome job! How did you trigger the drop? It looks like you weakened it in non-essential spots, then maybe pulled that left side in with a cable or something, attached halfway up. Am I even close?

Curiously,

we used two long ass cables. one on the right was pulling away from the building and one on the left pulling in and to the right. the left cable system was actually 4 into 1 cables set at strategic places in the wall to prevent it falling into the power lines and to make it give out at precise times. It was pulled by a large forklift out of camera off to the right. we couldnt afford to lose even one piece of wood longer than 4 feet into those lines. IIRC there was only two pieces of wood that dropped about 8 feet from the building on that side.

ah man, now the local punks will have no where to toke up and screw... LOL I'm kidding!

Back home we have "Dracs Castle".. it's old abandoned coal mining buildings.. the place is pretty cool, lots of big parties there.

so you took out the small part of the building... but not the brick building?

I was hoping to see the whole thing go down!! 032.gif

Was there a reason they didnt have the brink part demoed? They going to fix that part up? or is it still in use?

they are planning to do some demo and some fix up. it's a historical building so there are some hurdles for them.
