Ok, I pick up the kid in three hours and her room was done two hours ago. Thanks for the painting advice. The room looks pretty good. Not great, but pretty good. The tape worked well. Where I tried to free hand the ceiling did not turn out too well, but where we taped it was fine. Now I just hope I bought the colors she wanted. My luck is she'll open the door and instead of being happily surprised, she'll cry because the colors are wrong.

Awesome! I think that was the happiest I've seen that kid in a long time. She walked into her room, looked around like something was wrong and broke out in one of those fantastic "kid with braces" smiles that only a teenager can throw down. Two days of cusing, taping, spilling, wiping up spilled paint and listening to my beloved pointing out all of the spots I needed to touch up were all worth it.

Her reaction made my week. Now, if I can just remember this moment the next time she makes me mad.
