The guy said he heard in an email straight from RAAC. You could always just email them and ask.

That's great news, provided it's true, and our new overlord will allow us to have them.

I'm the one that posted that about the 5.45 saiga on ar15.com. I emailed RAAC on Monday about them importing a 5.45 saiga. Tuesday I received an email back stating the paperwork is being approved by the ATF, and it could happen by the end of the year. The guy's name is Clyde Woods, Sales and Marketing, RAAC. I have no reason to lie about it, but if you don't believe me, email them yourself and ask.

What would the magazine situation be like for one of these, assuming they (the guns) were to become available?

Any AK74 magazine should work.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but why would someone buy the 5.45 version over the 5.56 version of the gun?

Yes but it takes a while to burn 10,000 rounds up. Don't think I'll do it in my lifetime. Also would make a sweet donor for a russian 74 build if some come in dimpled.

Well I have thought it would take a while to burn up that much ammo, but it does go fast when you are having fun, I may have over ten to fifteen thousand rounds of assorted stuff, but hundreds in a weekend aint hard to do either.
