Really... 012.gif Saigas are still the same price they were a couple years ago... 012.gif

If you think that Saigas have gone up in price... THINK AGAIN!!! They are STILL THE SAME PRICE!!!

"How is this" you may ask yourself??? "What kind of idiot numbskull is this Indy fellow?!?!" you may think...

Well... EASY... 032.gif

Lets do some math...

Currently...

1.00 CAD = 0.976769 USD
Canada Dollars United States Dollars
1 CAD = 0.976769 USD 1 USD = 1.02378 CAD

A couple years back... they were getting 1.6 CD to the USD

At one point the Canadian dollar surpassed the US dollar!!!

If we look at just the last five years, roughly the time frame that we’ve been creating tons of new money to fight the Iraq war, we see a steady decline of the US dollar’s value. Think they’re intertwined? You betcha. This is the direct result of inflation, which is what happens when we create new money with nothing of value to back it. Take note of the downward trend, since October of 2002, from $1.60 per US dollar all the way to actually being less valuable than the Canadian dollar. That’s a 60% loss of value!!!

Whats that mean for our Saigas?!?!?

Well... if you consider that our dollar is going to fall the same around the globe... we need to spend more dollars to get what we could a few years back... but those same dollars are really "WORTH" 60% less...

$530.00 for a Saiga 12 really means that you are paying $318.00 in the currency from a few years ago... Hmm... $318 is a fair price I would think...

$290.00 for a .410 = about $175.00... I think I paid about that for mine when I first got it...

Lets consider ammo costs...

Case of 1000 X39 rounds... most places are charging about $225.00 ish... give or take some "deals" out there...

$225.00 for 1000 rounds today means you would have paid about $135.00 for a case... Maybe that a little high from a couple three years back... but dont forget theres China buying up much tons of metals and causing the prices to climb... something we DIDN'T have to worry about a few years back...

Think of it like that... and the current prices aren't that bad after all... respectively speaking...

NOW... if our paychecks would have had that same increase... Yeah... I know.. THATS a funny one, there isn't it?!?!?!? laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif ... Hell... that would be a $300.00 a week raise for myself!! We wouldnt be blinking about the cost!!!! laugh.gif

Which is also why we're paying so much for gas. So leave the oil speculators alone already.

Folks, whenever you hear "inflation" it just means the government is printing more money to pay for stuff. You and I will pay for it eventually because the promise behind the new money is our collective labor. Besides it's easier to hide costs from the American public. Can you imagine if the government just went around and collected what it needed to fund foreign aid, the defense budget, two wars, and social welfare? Believe me, no one would be driving around in Hummers...except the government troops collecting taxes.

Nice write-up Indy.

I have a friend in Romania that was my partner in selling ancient coins on ebay. He provided the coins, I provided the US address. Buyers do not trust Romanian sellers as a whole. I did it for the fun and was given some really nice coins for my collection, he did it to help further his collection also.

The dollar has changed so that he cannot buy a coin over in Europe and sell it here for a profit like we used to do. In fact, he is now buying them from here and selling them over there for a profit.

Economic changes killed a business that my friend and I ran for almost 5 years.

I can see that the new price is actually the old price for a Saiga shotty.
