New guy here. New to forum and new to Saiga .223. I just got my .223 and want to replace the plastic
stock and forearm with factory new wooden furniture. Can someone give me step by step instructions
on how to do this? Is it a complicated job? I have a friend who can help. He is familiar with AR-15 but
not Saigas. I'd be thankful for any help I can get.
Thanks!

This should help you get started, at least with getting the old furniture off...

Take out or loosen the screws and pull them off...that's about it, my (at the time) 5 year old son helped me take them off my rifle...

Make sure you find and remove all the screws before trying to remove the stock. Three screws hold a regular sporter stock on (rear of trigger guard, receiver tang, and under the rear of the recoil spring assembly). For the hand guard, it's one screw to remove and then push forward to slide it off. If you have access to a cordless impact driver, I find that it makes removing screws from the synthetic stocks really easy.

Thanks for the help. I had tried to remove the two screws that I thought were securing the buttstock, but
when I did, it was still just as tight. Didn't know about the other screws. I was afraid to start pulling parts out
and not know how to put them back, end up with a big pile of Russian metal. Thanks again for the help.

The screws can be kind of tough, just go easy and you'll get it figured out, when in doubt wear gloves, nothing sucks more than slipping and stabbing your hand, or worse if you use your lap as a work bench!
