Seen pics of the Georgia/Russia conflict. Looks to me they're back to the old 7.62x39. Wadyathink?

well, russia is using everything, the georgians don't have much of anything, so whatever old contract guns they got left, could be anything as well....

For best results, why not post the pix you are interested in, and we can help you identify the weaponry.

Huh?

We trained, armed, and equipped those guys. They probably have the whole range of ComBloc small arms as well as T66 and T72 battle tanks and self propelled howitzers. They downed at least two Russian aircraft and I'm sure that wasn't done using 7.62x39.

just curious about the rifles, couldn't care less about the tanks

Most of the pics I've seen from both sides seem to be using the more straight 5.45 magazines.

I did see a pic of a Russian soldier with a VSS on one of the news services yesterday.

It's my guess that ALL of the AK calibers are in play here...
You have-
Russian Military
Russian "Para-military"
Resistance groups in two different areas of Georgia
Georgian Military
Georgian Police
Georgian "Para-military"
etc...
etc...
