I recently found an outstanding deal on a MAC 10.45acp full-auto with a Gemtech Viper can and bought it.
My question is this.
I know my CLEO (Sheriff) has to sign off on the MG transfer Form 4 but I'm curious as too what questions he may ask. I'm already a CCW permit holder and have NFA items...should I tell him I'm no newbie to NFA as I already have silencers and an SBR on an RLT? Or will he maybe percieve that as going behind his back? Should I go in uniform as I'm active duty Marine Corps or do you think that will hinder the situation?
Any help will be appreciated.

hmm, thats a toss up...either he'll see u in uniform and sign off on it...or tell ur CO. depends on if ur CO is nice or an asshat. me personally, id go in uniform. kind of a reaffirmation of ur character. u protect America and that is generally appreciated by people especially LEOs.

Go in uniform would be your best bet. I mean he may be the rare CLEO that has a hard-on for service men, but as you live in his jurisdiction, I would think that you would know that if it were the case by now.
Also he most likely either signs, or doesn't. Some CLEO try and short-circuit the damn law. I would talk to the Class-3 dealers in your area beforehand. They will most likely know if he has been giving their customers problems and have some good advice for you.
Also remember, if you live inside the city limits, the police chief may sign as well.
Good Luck!

for years my sherrif signed off for me with no problem, suddenly for some reason he stopped ,So I had my county corner sign off instead.Don't forget the prosecuting attorney and judges can sign too.I'd try going in uniform.
Ohh and better get tons of ammo for that Mac it rips through it quick

I wore my lab coat when going for my CLEO signoff. Couldn't hurt to affect a slight air of responsibility. Course they probably wouldn't think that if they saw this pic...

I agree, wear the uniform.......... but then again, I know the Sheriff down there. Man, what a "good ole boy"......... he'll probably ask you if you don't get enough of full auto at work......... seriously, be ready for that question, I'll bet he'll ask it.
good luck, and if I buy some ammo, can I shoot it????? please?????

Whatchoo talkin bout my face, Willis?
Nah, I know I'm a freaky looking little dude, but I can actually look pretty responsible when not holding two NFA weapons.
But put a Tromix Micro & an F/A M11/9 in my hands and you get that evil-ass, shit-eatin grin.
Here's another example of my ugly mug with evil grin, this time its my new .50 puttin the grin on my face.

Its an Anzio Ironworks single shot .50 BMG. Just got some ammo for it and the scope should be here tomorrow so hopefully I'll get to take it for a spin this weekend. Too bad theres no ranges out here past 200 yds!
And yes, those are my Teva sandals. They leave a nice "hippie tan" on my feet. Damn comfy though.
Here's a vid of my first time out with the M11/9.

Out of all the adjectives used to describe me over the years, I don't think anyone has ever used the word "chatty".

No offence taken, man. I'm actually a very quiet guy until someone brings up firearms.
BTW, whats the story with your avatar?
Edited to add: Oh wait, I know! Thats from "A Boy And His Dog", isn't it?
