spotted that myself a couple months ago.

pretty cool, and a good deal.

for now i have just have a good size bin filed with non perishibles ....and a supply of water.

most dried foods dont need to be cooked, but just need time to soaked for a while to be edible

the bucket idea is great until i see the storage temps for long lasting food...i don't think i could store that for 20 years in FL, once a storm hit and the power goes out, its fucking 100 in no time

It was BOB and BOV.

So 1911 is right about the BOB, and I think BOV is "Bug Out Vehicle".

here is a example of what mylar bags are for....

http://survivalacres.com/information/packaging_details.html

BOV = bug out vehicle. 4x4, boat, motorbike, horse (which you can eat later), cars, bikes, ect..
something you have prepared to get away from the shtf area....

#10 freeze dried are great for long term storage, but require water, time, and fire to prepare.

my thoughts, take them or leave them, is to also have fast eat on the go foods... canned or mre..

Thanks for the info.

MRE's are horrible, some of the guys in the academy used MRE's while we trained and they were the first to get sick and get stopped up. I'll stick with canned beans and meat, cheaper then freeze dried, and you can heat the cans up to somewhat cook them (even tho its not needed)
THE_HUNTER
I have Mountainhouse food that is vacuum packed in the cans from the 1980's! I bought it last year at a garage sale, 4 cases for $1 for the whole thing! Yes this stuff keeps forever! I have tried some of it and it beats the Hell outta MRE's to say the least. 032.gif
