I belong to another forum that some of the members are like "for that price you could buy a Remington or a Benelli" when the S12 is brought up.
I would appreciate you guys that have those shottys and a Saiga shotty, or had them and changed over to the Saiga, to please post and tell why you bought the Saiga shotty and replaced the other ones with it.
Then I can post a link to this thread on the other site and show them that people had those shottys and found a better one.
I am a firm defender of the S12 shotty, I believe it is the best shotgun for the money that is out there on the market today.

I had a Benelli M1.
Sold it to a drooling Benelli fanboi for what he wanted to pay for it.
Too complicated for me.

I used to have 3 Benellis An original HK import with the two piece steel receiver and wooden stock,an M1 Super 90 and an M3.I bought my first Saiga 12 several years ago on a dare for $199 at the Tulsa Gunshow circa 2002 or 2003.I was chuckling to myself looking at the spraypaint finish and crude machine marks and cheap stock and as my buddies and I headed out to the back yard to blast off a case of S&B buckshot at my backyard gongs I was not prepared for what came next! The Saiga was awesome! It totally blew my Benellis out of the water and I was fascinated.Would it hold up?Was this a fluke?I looked at the mechanism and started to suspect that it could be convert to take a regular AK trigger and pistol grip so off I went and a month later all of my benellis were on the wall as consignments at Phillips Police Equipment and I was looking for 8rd Russian Saiga mags!
Sometimes I miss my old wood Benelli with the 2 piece steel receiver because it was a simple affair that didn't require magazines and it was the first shotgun I ever bought with my own money back in 1988 but there is just no comparison to the Saiga.

I ran a Mossberg 590A1, sweet gun. Stayed with pumps for reliability, etc. But when I saw the Saiga in action on the Tromix website I knew I had to have one.
After getting one, converting it-WOW. No comparison, just as reliable as my pump, crazy rate of fire, less recoil, mag fed. It doesn't get any better.

I used a Benelli M3 before switching to the Saiga. It had a 20" barrel, with 9 rounds on board 7+1+1. It wasn't reliable with light birdshot and thing was awfully long for getting in and out of a vehicle with it. The SBS Saiga's are much more compact and still hold 10+1 in the mag.

I have a custom modified Remington 1100 and two High Standard 10-B! But Alas, so far the Saiga 12 has replaced none of them! Ask me again later!

Since I started using my S410 I rarely shoot any of my other 410's auto or not. I like my S12 but with its inability to handle 3 1/2" I had to have another auto for water fowl. I have an SPR453 (still russian). The SPR 453 adjustable gas system and its ability to handle any shot shell from 2 3/4 target loads to 3 1/2 magnum loads made it the only real choice. I shot a bennelli last year and hated it. The heavy shells were just obnoxious to shoot, might be a good gun in light loads. The berretta was a joke with heavy magnum shells, I would rather be kicked by a mule than use one. The S12 of course shot heavy 3" loads very comfortably just not the 3 1/2.
With dove season in full swing my poor S410 is getting a real workout. The guys I shoot with don't care for the 410 but have to respect that on many days I am limiting before them. I have not yet taken my converted S20 out to see how it does against dove. Before the season is over I know I will be out with it.
