I'd trust a Farmer long before I would trust anything gore said. "Snow also is forecast for northern Texas" Oh no, traffic gets mighty messed up around here in snow and ice. Folks just aren't used to it and forget that getting going is only half the equation. When it comes time to stop they are often in for a surprise!

Guess Cobra and I need to go find some more firewood since that's what we use to heat our house.

Yeah 1911, you are most wise in your decision but you have rural roots so you know the truth. When I am not giving free anesthesia in Dallas, I mean anesthesia YOU guys pay for, I farm and ranch here in West Texas and while it is mainly for personal consumption and game mgmt. and does not rival my REAL farmer neighbors, I can unequivocally attest that it is INDEED becoming cooler and WETTER. Today we are within 3in. of our yearly rainfall amount and that will be blown out of the water this weekend with Ike. 40 yaers ago here we had weeks of 100 degree temps during summer but relative humidity was low. Last year, no 100 degree days this year one. I sat thru 3 snowstorms last whitetail season. It snowed 4 times here last year, totally unprecedented!!. I am outside every chance I get and a real farmer 10 times more. Global warming is a debunked myth, a lie but like the gun issue, those that are not involved believe only what the TV liars tell them. Every 50,000 years North America experiences ice ages, has been for the last 20 million years. The last one was ....you will never guess.... 50,000 years ago. It is going to happen again, fact of nature. The downside is the entire east coast and all the way down to Tenn. will be obliterated. It won't happen overnight but it is inevitable. The Great Lakes were formed by a 3 mile thick ice sheet moving over that area. In New York the ice was thicker than the tallest building. Gore has probably never been around farming except for photo ops. He does not have a clue and neither do ignorant urban dwellers except those that grew up in rural areas or have read and explored the real, not TV made up facts.

Global warming, just like peak oil, is an enormous fraud, and it sickens (but doesn't surprise) me that so many people are falling for it. What it boils down to is the fact that so-called free trade and the out-of-control banking industry are turning the US into a third-world backwater and trying to get people to reduce their consumption (i.e. standard of living) is a tough task unless you scare them shitless. Then you have all manner of opportunists, like T. Boone Pickens, for example, who are going all in to turn their billions into trillions. And who's paying for it? We are, whether we like it or not. Want to know the real reason natural gas is being pushed so heavily right now? It has nothing to do with oil running out, because it's not. It has nothing to do with it being better for the environment, because it's not (it burns cleaner, but in the production, transport, and use of it, a lot of it escapes unburned, in which state it is far worse for the atmosphere than gasoline emissions). The real reason for the pushing of natural gas (and the invasion of Afghanistan and the current saber-rattling with Russia) is because Russia is planning to do to methane what the Saudis did to oil: form a cartel to fix prices. When that happens (not if, it's already in the works), you can expect natural gas prices to double overnight. Even though we don't get our natural gas from Central Asia, we do follow the whims of the global marketplace, so we are not immune.

Basic science.
We are still warming up from the last ice age. We are contributing to global warming, BUT IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL. Warmer earth - more evaporation of the seas, more clouds, more heat reflected back into space. More importantly, just as in a steam heating plant, the evaporation absorbs a large amount of heat due to the energy required to cause a change of state (Maxwell). As the water vapor condenses in the upper atmosphere the heat is released , again due to the change in state, (Maxwell again). The large increase in heat in and above the cloud layer will cause 2 reactions. 1. The cloud layer will take longer to condense - causing MORE heat to be reflected into space. 2. The increased cloud temperature will cause more heat to be radiated into space by by convection.
How long do these processes take? We see Mastodons with a belly full of spring flowers that were frozen in massive blizzards just NOW emerging. Also the ice sheets that covered North America may have melted in as little as 30 years!
Isn't Mother Nature wonderfull!
