My girl is trying to get me to move to SC. Her friend and her friend's husband have been living down there for a few years and love it. He's an ex-Marine, and now, a police officer in/around the Myrtle Beach area.

He's already said he can get me few different jobs, and my girl is pretty much guaranteed a job with her friend.

So onto my obvious question: How's the gun laws down yonder? Being that I'm from NY, they can't be any worse than what I deal with now biggrin.gif . The move, if it did happen, wouldn't all that soon, but I'd like to get an idea of what I'm getting into before hand.

Gun Laws here are pretty good also SC is a Class III and Shall issue state.
I lived here for 16 yrs now and love it. It was a big change at first moving here from California.

SC is a very fair state when it comes to gun laws! I would think that you would really enjoy it after dealing with the oppressive laws that you have had to deal with.

Just do not try and carry a pistol under your car seat!

OK, thanks fellas. Good to know SC is gun friendly.

If this does happen, the first thing I plan on doing is SBR'ing something. I don't even care what, just something with a short barrel to shed my oppressive goo of NY's gun laws biggrin.gif .

Class 3 stuff really depends on you CLEO. Ours down here in Aiken County is cool about it. Don't know about MB. For CCW, just take the 8 hr class, then no insta-check when you purchase firearms. Also, there is no qualification course of fire or restrictions on what you can carry.
