I haven't visited THR since that thief (whose name I won't even mention) hijacked it from Oleg, and I won't be going back until THR has been restored to its rightful owner.

I agree SaigaNoobie, those chamberings would be awesome, along with 5.45X39, in converted Saigas! Let's just hope that Saigas aren't banned first.

I would like one of each.

well i doubt the russians will give up their X54R guns, they don't like to send those over here for whatever reason, and their ammo too....i guess they wanna feel "special", .308 seems good enough for me....

I was under the impression that the Dragunov was banned due to a specific agreement worked out between Clinton and the Rooskies. If so, said agreement might not apply to a Saiga x54R, in the same way it doesn't apply to the PSL because it's Romanian.

But I could have that all wrong...

At any rate, I'd *LOVE* to have a Saiga 7.62x54R. I wouldn't even have to stock up on ammo in a new caliber!

The agreement signed between Clinton and Yeltsin imposed import bans on certain models of russian-made firearms by name (among them the SVD), the cartridge chambering had no bearing. So the Saiga can be imported in any chambering, but the SVD can't be imported period, regardless of what cartridge it is chambered in, and so even the .308 SVDs which Russia makes specifically for export can't be imported into the US.

Are we sure that anything posted on a high jacked forum is G.T.G. I'm not gonna beleive anything posted, referred to ,linked, or mentioned with T.H.R.

I'm sorry stealing is stealing. When Oleg was his rightful place (at the helm of T.H.R.) I will never have anything to do with that forum.

Apparently his webmaster reregistered the domain in his name at renewal time. For one reason or another the shit hit the fan and the admin locked him out. Currently the subject of a lawsuit.
