I just wanted to share this real quick as we have a lot of dog lovers on the forum. I've got a Shep/Lab mix that's a shedding mess this time of year, leaving that crap all over the house. Nothing worked until a few friends recommended this. It's a product (Dog brush/deshedding tool) that takes out the loose under coat like nothing I've ever seen. It's called the FURminator, it cost a little more than most at the pet stores but can be had on the NET for a better price. I'm a cheap ass so I went with the small one and it works just fine. Long story short, I used it twice, two days between uses and when I did it today there was almost nothing left. Even better, my dogger loves the damn thing and just sits there till I'm done.

I just thought I'd share, money's tight for a lot of people and it's finally good to get something that lives up to it's claims. The Dyson sucks like a sonofabitch, but now it has less crap to pick up. Infomercial done rolleyes.gif

+1 for the FURminator!

The thing is awesome. I wish I had it with my Siberian.

Thanks for the tip, Mark !!! My terriers don't shed the long hair, but they blow that undercoat bigtime !!! Like tumbleweeds around the house.........
We're going to give the Furminator a try !!!

By the way, a big +1 on the Dyson !!! Never seen anything like it !! I'll never own another brand of vacuum.........

I second it. Works well on short hair dogs with barb like hair such as pitts and amstaffs. They usually don't like a lot of other brushes since it rubs the skin too much.

For added bonus, give them a "dry bath" of baking soda and then brush it out. Dogs like labs and goldens with oily fur (for water) can smell like hell sometimes. Doesn't bother their skin at all. And do this outside.

The Furminator works really well. First time I used it on my lab I couldn't believe how much hair came out. Leaves his coat looking good too but it's hard to get him to sit still for it but then again it's hard to get him to sit still for anything.

thanks for the recommendation....... I ordered one of these this morning. We'll see how it does on Shepherds.
