I thought some understated stars of the show this past Sunday (along with Hendrick Motorsports, of course....)
were the unflappable Martinsville High School Marching Band. They flawlessly performed the National Anthem for an audience that certainly would boggle any adult imagination.

Fine job, young Americans!

My NASCAR fanatic son didn't see the beginning. I've seen people do a great job doing the Anthem. And I've seen (heard) people mutilate it. Nice to hear they did a good job.

I don't mind if it's sung poorly, so long as it is done so with the proper heart and respect.....

And nice hooters don't hurt...

Jessica Simpson did her shit at Charlotte. Hooters or no, she SUCKS. My son told me he was happy the speakers were facing towards the outfield so he didn't have to hear it as loud.
And I'm not talking about people that don't sing so well. I'm talking about those that think they can make the song 'their own'. NO YOU CAN'T. There's one way to sing it. Period.

I went to the race at Charlotte and know how badly Jessica Simpson sings first hand!
