Well, I dragged my new-to-me Hesse converted Saiga to the range today. Honestly, I don't know what all you were bitching and moaning about when I asked about build quality. I guess the AK's built on their receivers were junk but the one I have built from a Saiga ran great. I ran 200 rounds of Wolf Military Classic thru it today. I had zero problemsm with it, no feed or ejection problems, accuracy was I'd expect from a Saiga, and it was a downright pleasure to shoot.
I must have gotten a good one because this thing was flawless.

I am glad your Hesse didn't live up to it's name.

A lot of the AKs they build are not just junk, they are dangerous.

I don't think anyone was bitching and moaning. Just giving a heads up about a shady company.

Pretty much any thread that starts out with: "I want an AK (or AR), which company should I go with?".....

......has this somewhere in the replies: "Whatever you do, do not buy from Hesse/Vulcan/ <insert current name used to throw off the public, here>.

If yours runs good, awesome. Have fun with it, and shoot the shit out of it. But don't think that what you got, is of usual Hesse quality.

Ok, I have to chime in. I also have a Hesse converted Saiga 7.62 and it has ran flawless since I purchased it last spring. Feeds anything I feed it and is pretty accurate for an AK variant. I know and have read to pro's and con's with the Hesse conversions but just not sure that relates to the Saiga since there's not alot of tweaking that Hesse did to these rifles. Anyways maybe I'm also a lucky one. In closing I have enjoyed my Hesse/Saiga so much that I bought a Big Brother for him. His name is Saiga12.
Enjoy!
