It wouldn't have made a decent TV episode, imho.

I think it was worth watching, it was just like watching a TV episode from an early season. It wasn't like one of the later episodes or the first movie where nothing happens and they just sit around and talk. It wasn't connected to any other episode, and I didn't think it was bad. I wouldn't say it was worth the $8 either, but I see all my movies for free, so it was totally worth my 90 minutes.

I liked it, and I thought it was a good movie, but it wasn't what I expected and it won't be what you expect.

I'm surprised Chris Carter was allowed to make it, frankly. Maybe they had to let him make another one due to some contractual obligation. It has almost none of the "big aliens conspiracy" stuff that I had expected.

It's almost like he hadn't quite finished telling the story about Mulder and Scully as people, and this was his chance. It's much more a study in the idea of belief and faith and the hope that there is something more than just what you can see.

By all means, rent it, but don't expect a wild ride. Expect a quiet study in faith.
