What the fuck?
Of course, the race card, we knew that would be thrown in there. Which is retarded. But then... and I may be the only one seeing this, but everyone opposing Obama seems to think that there is some kind of Socialist ulterior motive behind his election. As if a redistribution of wealth has never been called for in America before.
Well here, for all you SUV driving Upper-Middle class types out there: Whatever happens, it will not be Uncle Sam telling you you have to give Mr. Joe Snuffy the keys to your SUV, or let him into your house on football night. No. Americans are far too concerned about that for that to ever happen.
What I think everyone is missing is that there is a level of prosperity in the upper echelon of America so inconceivable to the average man, so vast; that redistributing even a fraction of that wealth would have an enormous impact on society as a whole.
People seem to be blind to the fact that no one who is rich is afraid. No one gives a damn cuz they can sit back and let you guys stir up shit about potentially losing what little you are allowed to have (albeit hard worked for). So they don't even lift a finger to change things. No, they'll just invent a new breakfast sandwich, petroleum product, fashion item, or TV show to sate the masses as they huddle around the warm glow of imaginary security in this capitalist world we've created.
So if you, the average man, are mad at anything. Be mad at the guys who lives a life you could never even imagine. Who has not and will never worry about having to save up to go on vacation, or pay his child's medical bills. That smug bastard who pays less taxes per capita for what fucking reason? So you can press 1 for English?
Think about it.
And for fuck's sake go read 1984.

Don't hate the player, hate the game. If one has a problem with capitalism, perhaps they should read up on the alternatives. As far as taxes go, I don't know that the rich pay less taxes, any proof? They should pay the same percentage as the rest of us, make 10x as much = pay 10x as much. Instead of a graduated tax system, we need a flat tax with NO exceptions or shelters.

Taxes are only fair if they are applied to the portion af income above that necessary to support the necessities of life. My suggestion is that taxes be pegged to a freshman Conrgressman's salary. Make less, no taxes.

What, exactly, did those who make less than freshman congressmen do to deserve their tax free status and what did those make more do to deserve being treated unequally? We all benefit from our taxes (a little) so why shouldn't we all pay the same percentage? A flat rate system has equality built into it, any graduated system has inequality built into it. These are only popular because the majority of people aren't well off and have no problem stealing from the rich out of jealousy. Maybe if the working poor had to pay the same percentage of taxes we could convince them that more government programs and more government spending is not the answer. Can the rich afford it? Sure, but that doesn't make it right to steal from them.

Lol ok. Because our latest president didn't offer tax breaks to the wealthy to say... encourage them to outsource jobs... or anything like that.... nooo.
That's fine. Hate the game. ROGER THAT!
I should totally sit by as a helpless victim.
Good Plan.
And don't even think about saying some shit like "Well if you don't like it here then go somewhere else" FUCK YOU. America is my country, and goddamn it I would fight to make her into what she was always supposed to be: The Land of Liberty.
However, those who sit jauntily across the throat of America slowly leeching the blood from her veins, have taken measures to protect themselves, and conceal themselves.
So yes, I'm going to hate the game. The game that's rules are written by the same fuckers who coin that phrase.
STOP BEING FUCKING SHEEP.
I'm gonna use a communist word here so hold onto your nuts, and try not to shit yourselves.
The power of a nation lays in the proletariat. We are the ones fighting the Wars, plowing the fields, Hammering the steel, delivering the mail, balancing the accounts. WE. THE PEOPLE.
We allow these fucks a place in OUR society. For without us there would be no bruised backs to dance on.
Arguably I suppose you could say that that is a two way street.... only you'd be wrong.
And sure, America should be the land of equality. Or at least to some degree. Corruption and deviance should not be devices tolerated in our society as means to get ahead.
I think we can all agree that if you want something, work for it.
However, we live in a time where people live off what they haven't earned, and 90% of society is exploited daily.
Any of you guys read 1984 yet?

I think I read it. Or was it Brave New World? I know I read Animal Farm.
I feel our taxes are the cost of doing business in America. The investment in infrastucture, education, health care, and our convoluted legal system make the American dream possible. Nobody wants their money taken, but we all reap the benefits if it is spent wisely.
Would our nation be in less danger had McCain won? What does this yahoo feel are the dangers our nation faces under this administration?

Ok, first off. I'm not bitching about an unfair tax burden. I'm bitching about the enormous rich-poor divide in America.
Second, as far as threats the new regime poses to our country? Trivial, no matter what goes on in the White House, legislation alone will never impact our life enough to change anything.

When the illegal federal tax on earnings was instituted, it was set at $25,000 and above. That would be a Senators salary today. The origional law is flawed, and inflation has reversed it's net effect.
Why don't we just drop Fed income taxes alltogether, like the Constitution says? We did just fine for the hundred years or so before the Constitution was sidestepped to tax the people directly.
