Ok, things look bad right now... but, can anything good come out of this?

* Gun sales are up 49% according to today's CNN article. That's more gun owners. That means more folks are armed in case the zombies (ei. Obama minions) come for us. More folks getting active. More folks to be on "our side".

* I figure NRA memberships are up?

* It's waking up some folks who were on the fence about owning a gun. These newbies will see how important, empowering and fun this is.

* Maybe the AWB or other brady wish lists doesn't go anywhere and now we can have a surplus of guns/ammo when things settle. ei. lower prices.

Common, Obama told taught us about "hope" right? (sarcasm)

Is this 40% number the number of new folks (never owned a gun before) or the old farts buying 40% more guns than usual?

There's a rush on firearms while we can still get them. The Arab who suckered America to take the presidency will do what he can to disarm us and make guns and ammo impossible to get. The DemonRATs also want to take our guns away and impose Nazi like gun laws. I was at AIM Surplus and couldn't get into the door and the sign said a lot of items were already sold out. Another dealer sold much of their inventory. The Ohio Gun Collectors Association show was not festive as members were trying to buy up guns while they can. Some looked like they were leaving a funeral instead of the festive mood that gun shows normally have.

Don't think that they won't hit the ground with anti gun regulations and laws the minute the DemocRats take power. They have been whetting their appetites for our guns for decades and this is their big opportunity. They also have plans to silence their opposition. Obama also wants to have a security force which is funded like the Defense Department (probably his version of the Gestapo) to impose his Islamo fascism /socialism on us by force.

Well I just sold 60 well used bulgy AK74 mags for $1000.....paid $3 each for them 2 years ago.

Like I said before.....if nothing else, Obama is (indirectly) arming the shit out of American citizens.



I'd assume a little of both.

People who were already gun owners obviously want more guns anyway, so they're going to buy what they can now, in fear of more gun control. Then you have people who didn't own guns before, but might have been wanting to get into the hobby/sport/lifestyle before the election, and this has just pushed them to actually buy some firearms.

Every firearm fanatic I know has been buying as much as they can this year. I am also seeing lots and lots of new folks buying guns.

The good side of this is that lots of libs who were anti-gun are buying guns now. Even if only half of these gun owning libs learn the value of the 2nd, this will be very good for our country IMHO. Lots of ladies are buying guns, women constitute the majority of the anti-gun sentiment in this country so this is great. I am also seeing more young people getting interested in guns - this is essential to maintaining future freedom, if they get a taste of freedom now, maybe they will fight for it in the future.

Now the bad; The rangmaster at my local range has his hands full with the suden influx of "newbies" - lots of muzzle covering, crossing the line early, and general unsafe handling. There is always gonna be the new shooter guy on the line that needs a freindly reminder about safety, but when the majority of folks on the line are like this - OHH, its a bad time to be a rangmaster. Last week I saw a guy ask a gun store clerk to see a 1911 pistol, the clerk checked it, handed it to the customer, the customer pointed it at another customer and dropper the hammer! Guy across the street bought a Glock 23 (first gun he ever owned) and shot a hole through his roof last month. A kid was killed locally last week while handling his fathers newly purchased pistol. How many of these new gun owners are going to keep that loaded gun in the nightstand or in the closet with children in the house - I dont see a rush on safes? Bad side of this gun rush is that firearm accidents are going to skyrocket, and this will be used against us.

If the AWB returns as before, our rifles will increase in value.
Hell, the Saiga is a ban-rifle anyway.

I wonder if a lot of these purchases will surface on the resale market next year.

It's easy to assume this will be another "Klintonesque" ban, but we should be so lucky.....Obama /Biden / Pelosi want to "ban firearms" which would criminilize the act of owning "banned" firearms. As Hussein has stated, "semi-automatic" firearms.

If there's a "silver lining", it's that this may be happening before we, as a Nation, crumble into further decline. Maybe it's better that it happen sooner rather than later, that is if it has to happen at all.
Maybe seeing this idiot rise to head-swelling super-uber-power is what these morons who think Socialism sounds pretty cool need for a wake-up call.
It's a pretty safe bet you aren't standing in line at the gun shows with 'em. Bet they'll feel kind of vulnerable out there....
