My Saiga has the Tapco T6 stock, and the Tapco Galil style handguard with no rails. The dustcover has been replaced with an aftermarket piece with rails and a scope is attached to this using two O ring mounts.

(The dustcover tends to be loose, does anyone have any ideas to tighten it up? I would prefer not switching to a side mounted scope. It has two set screws on the back of the dustcover and they eventually push the new dustcover over the latch when tightened all the way...)

What would be the best way to mount a tactical light and if possible also a laser to my gun? Again there are no rails on the handguard. Any ideas and or product recommendation would be appreciated.

I had the dust cover scope mount at one time, absolutely would not hold zero. As for the rail, i used an aluminum rail I bought at a gun show and bolted it on the for end.

I bought the same dust cover and had the same problems it's crap!!! So being so it went to the trash, live and learn. Anything that attaches to the dust cover is a bad idea.

Last night I broke down the Saiga for a thorough cleaning. When I put the dust cover back on I pounded it with the plastic handle of a screwdriver. Now the screws tighten all the way and it doesn't seem to loosen up any more.

Run 60 hard rounds threw her and you'll see that the dust cover moved and your scope won't be at 0 any more, the idea looks good but with the power of the AK it turned out to be a very bad idea...

Some things look good and might seem to be a good idea but for the Ak make sure the reviews are in before you spend any money or you'll kick yourself later, I did more then once :-(

look into dph arms, I think they are working on a railed handguard & a beryl style rail if you're looking to go tacticool.

haven't seen a dust cover that fits tight.....as for rail options there is plenty now available with little or no mods to the gun for install. But why would you want a light or laser on a rifle?

Mounting optics on the dust cover is generally a bad idea... unless you don't care about zero.
