Greetings everyone-

I'm the FNG. I found this forum about a month ago and started reading the post. Then I joined the other day- which leads me to my questions.

In the last month, I have purchased 3 Saiga 12g 19" NIB. I got two at the same price from the same dealer, then the other one I bought yesterday. In metro Atlanta the price on a Saiga 12g has went from 599.00 to 799.99 + in less then 5 weeks. The one I purchased yesterday, got it for $525.00 NIB (How was I going to pass that deal up?) I bought it from a local gun shop, thing had been sitting up there collecting dust they had the same price on it as they did a year ago +

I also bought a Saiga 7.62 for $300.00 second hand in great shape hadnt had but a few rounds and no mods done to it.

My question is-

Are there any mods that I shouldnt do to the 12gs that will cause it to lose the investment value? (Prbly going to leave two NIB in box with the plastic wrap still on them)

I've already started enchaing the 7.62 my next project will be the saiga 12g.

There are so many options to do with the 12g I'm trying to nail down the right route so that the gun will fire, look great and hold its investment value.

last question is if anyone is from around Atlanta-?

Justin

PS. If you see any NIB Saiga 7.62 for a decent price, let me know. I hear they are shipping more in Jan 09 but who knows what the new pricing on those will be?

Hey welcome to the forum and the Saiga addiction. There are a few of us here from the Atlanta area. I'm actually down in Newnan. $525 seems to be a good price in todays times. Last week at the Farmers Market show I saw a few running average price and a few that were gouging trying to sell at $699.

Seems to me like you have the right idea about keeping them in original condition. If I wanted to get one and make it tactical I would only want a known professional doing any work to it. Not to say you don't know what you are doing. I just decided that any Saiga I get will be professionally modified or I would do it my self so I know who to blame if it's screwed up. Plus that way they can decide on the mods themselves. Way to go on the pick ups, I've been drooling over those shotguns for awhile now.

I would add a Tapco T6 folding/telescoping stocks with pistol grips, so that they are SAWs before a possible new AWB is passed on you guys sad.gif . Adding those would mean that you could fully convert it later and get $$$ for ak look-a-like.
