I was down there today, saw some crazy stuff. First off, it was packed out.

$150 for 500 rounds of brown bear 7.62X39, $800 for an unconverted saiga .223, $800 AK pistols, etc.

My buddy got into it with a guy selling a Romanian PSL for $1500. The guy was like "yep, this is the good russian one." Then why does it say "romania" on it? "Well it's the same thing, and for an extra $250 Ill give you 10 magazine and 800 rounds." Well, you're crazy if you think you can pull that price on it. I can get those for $750 on the internet. "Well if you don't like it, you can just move on." rolleyes.gif Whatever.

There was a guy on the other side of the room selling one for $900.

I don't think I'm going to go to anymore gun shows. This is just ridiculous. We were talking about how we paid $7 to have our intelligence insulted. What the fuck are these people thinking.

I know what you mean,Ive been to several GA and TN shows in the past 3 weeks and seen the jacked up prices,$750 for a yugo AK,stock S12s for $700,223&762s for $400 and up,$20-25 AK and AR mags and other than Geogia arms ammo I havent seen any cases of ammo at all, nobodies walking anything around except some beat up 30-30s and some ragged out wheel guns

Some dude out of Mississippi had pallets of ammo stacked up, but he was wanting something like $280 for 1000 rounds of barnaul.

This is nothing more than pure unadulterated greed. Remember the last BS excuse for the high ammo prices? Gasoline and transport costs, yeah what a load of crap. Gas prices have not been this low for 5-7 years. What is the next excuse?? Alien invaders? 30 day shelf life on all ammo?? The sky is blue?? Everyone should have seen this coming, I mean come on, Mccain or barry ? Both are the gunlovers enemy. I am glad I have been buying up since 911 and my last purchase was the day barry hussein got elected. An AR15 receiver--price $115.00. Today that receiver is $175.00. I refuse to play into this game. I'm good for 6-8 years and I hope as many as possible did the same. Everybody waits until the next crisis and than it is a mad rush and some dufus with a junior high education tries to rip you off. My advice is stop buying, don't go to gun shows, you should have already done that unless you do not mind throwing your hard earned $$$ away. Yes this is capitalism but it is no different than the stock market. This is the time to buy cheap stocks you will make a killing later. Now is not the time to stock up, that time has passed because you know what is coming not a definite but probable. That is what these ripoffs are counting on. A couple weeks ago some one pointed out Academy had 7.62x39 for $2.99 the printed price was $4.99. It rung up @ $2.99 I bought it all, 3.5K rounds @ .1495 cents per round. So deals can still be had. Just don't go on impulse or Billy-Bob's sky is falling theory. Those that are fianancially strapped are those who get rippped and that is what bothers me the most.

Yeah, there are definitely deals to be had if you look in unassuming places. The academy un-advertised special is a perfect example, along with the Dicks/Remington rebate, or see my "best day ever" thread. They are out there, just not in the most conventional places.

I always try and use Academy and Megalomart as a baseline for pricing. Bass Pro Shop and local gun stores too rich for my blood. In 2004 I could purchase Barnaul 762x39 for 67.00 per 1K from a wholesale dealer. My have times changed.
elvis christ
shit, now it's cheaper to buy 7.62x39 at academy than at the gun show. even with tax.
