Nothing was changed on the gas system . The only ammo it will work with is the 3" mag. .

A security analyst who provides intelligence information to a wide range

of law enforcement, private corporation and security interests has written

in a publicly released "white paper" that the issue of Barack Obama's

eligibility to be president could become a "flashpoint" in the United

    States.

  4. As Lands Bill Fight Ends

-- Greater battles over gun rights loom

    Wednesday, April 1, 2009

In March, both the U.S. House and Senate finished up work on a massive,

anti-gun $10 billion omnibus federal land bill.

The bill had been held up for over a year in large part due to GOA

members fighting for Second Amendment rights on federal land -- YOUR

    land.

The Second Amendment has been null and void for many years on all land

controlled by the National Park Service (NPS). While regulations

promulgated in the waning days of the Bush administration partially

reversed that gun ban, a federal judge recently blocked those rules from

    taking effect.

GOA worked closely with pro-gun members of the House and Senate to add a

complete repeal of the NPS gun prohibition to the larger land bill.

While these efforts delayed passage of the bill, in the end the anti-gun

congressional leadership teamed up with "pro-gun" compromisers and

passed the measure without protecting the Second Amendment.

In an effort to appease gun owners, language was added to the bill to

protect hunting and fishing. But, as GOA pointed out to the Congress,

the Founding Fathers did not pledge their lives, fortunes and sacred

honor to protect a recreational pastime.

The final attempt to protect the Second Amendment from NPS bureaucrats

came on a procedural vote in the House that would have made in order an

amendment, sponsored by pro-gun Reps. Doc Hastings (R-WA) and Rob Bishop

(R-UT), to repeal the gun ban. That motion failed by a vote of 242-180.

So now not only does the gun ban remain in place, the new bill greatly

expands the total amount of NPS land. Since NPS-controlled parks and

trails also include many busy roadways, hundreds of thousands of gun

owners can unwittingly find themselves in violation of the gun ban

without even knowing they are on federal land.

Representatives Hastings and Bishop, along with Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA),

have vowed to continue their efforts to wipe this unconstitutional gun

ban from the books. In the Senate, Tom Coburn (R-OK) is also pushing

for the repeal of the anti-gun NPS regulations.

Gun Owners of America would like to thank the thousands upon thousands

of email subscribers who repeatedly contacted their congressmen in this

battle to protect the Second Amendment. We were sold out by

compromisers this time, but we will "remember in November" those who

    voted against the Second Amendment.

Please help spread the word so we can get even more people contacting

their elected officials. As the late Senator Everett Dirksen said,

"When I feel the heat, I see the light."

And do we ever need to turn up the heat!

Many important battles for your Second Amendment rights lay before us.

For instance, Barack Obama and his anti-gun cronies are making a massive

push to renew the Clinton semi-auto ban.

The President and his Attorney General, Eric Holder, are blaming the

current violence among Mexican drug cartels on firearms from the United

States. This is another blatant attempt by anti-gun advocates to use

whatever situation they can find to further erode your Second Amendment

    rights.

The problems of corruption and violence in Mexico should not be used as

an excuse to curtail your right to keep and bear arms. But once again

law-abiding American gun owners are in danger of being punished for the

    criminal actions of others.

The Clinton gun ban is just one of the attacks that you and GOA will be

    fighting.

There is also a massive anti-gun bill in Congress, H.R. 45, that

includes universal gun owner licensing and registration, and the Obama

White House continues its efforts to ban private firearms transactions

    at gun shows.

You can help us reach out to even more gun owners. Please forward this

message to your friends and encourage them to sign up for the GOA email

    alerts.

    Wednesday, March 11, 2009

Thanks to you, a bill expanding gun control on federal land was narrowly

    defeated Wednesday morning, March 11.

The Omnibus Public Lands Act of 2009, S. 22, would have drastically

increased the amount of land controlled by the National Park Service,

thus subjecting such land to the anti-gun regulations of the agency.

The bill was brought to the floor of the U.S. House on what is known as

the "suspension calendar." This calendar is normally reserved for

non-controversial bills. As such, any bill being passed under the

suspension calendar requires a two-thirds majority of those voting.

In this case, the pro-gun position prevailed by a mere two votes --

meaning S. 22 is far from being non-controversial.

Although suspension bills are not normally amended, one change was

allowed in a secret backroom deal between a few members.

The amendment, offered by Rep. Jason Altmire (D-PA), was intended to

alleviate the concerns of gun owners.

The Altmire amendment sought to protect hunting and recreational

shooting on federal land, but those steps are completely inadequate to

address the concerns of millions of gun owners.

The Second Amendment protects, as the Supreme Court affirmed in D.C. v.

Heller, an individual right to keep and bear arms. That right was never

intended to protect only the shooting sports.

Under current regulations, firearms possessed for the sole purpose of

self-defense on land controlled by the National Park Service is

prohibited unless the person holds a concealed carry permit.

While millions of law-biding Americans hold CCW permits, many more do

not. It is these citizens' rights that are going unprotected.

NPS land covers the gamut from busy thoroughfares to remote wilderness

areas. These gun free zones are dangerous, in addition to creating a

patchwork of inconsistent regulations between federal and state land.

Although we won today, unfortunately the battle is not over.

The anti-gun leadership will attempt to bring this bill back to the

floor in a way that requires a simple majority, rather than the

    two-thirds vote they needed Wednesday.

Several pro-gun congressmen will try to offer an amendment in committee

to simply allow state and local law to govern firearms possession on NPS

land. This type of amendment would put more control at the local level

and protect the gun rights of all law-abiding Americans.

What is expected is that the leadership will propose a new "rule" that

    blocks any such pro-gun amendments.

If that happens, the vote on the rule becomes the gun vote.

House leaders have not indicated when they will attempt to bring the

bill back to the floor, but it could come up at any time.

Therefore, your Representative needs to hear from you once again, for

two reasons. First, the entire House needs to be urged to reject any

parliamentary trick that excludes language to protect Second Amendment

rights on federal land. Next, those who voted against your rights need

to know of your dissatisfaction, while those who stood up for your

    rights should be thanked.

ACTION: Please use the Gun Owners Legislative Action Center at

    http://gunowners.org/activism.htm to send your Rep. a pre-written

letter. Note: the LAC will automatically load the correct text for

individual Representatives, based upon their vote Wednesday. Because

the list has to be divided in this way, the pre-written letters are not

    editable by the sender.

    ----- Pre-written letter for those who voted pro-gun -----

    Dear Representative:

Thank you for standing up for the Second Amendment by voting against S.

22, the Omnibus Public Lands Management Act of 2009.

This bill would greatly expand land controlled by the National Park

Service, and thus spread the agency's gun restrictions to even more

areas. The NPS gun ban should be repealed, not expanded.

Although the pro-gun side won today, the battle is not over. The

anti-gun leadership will try to bring the bill to the floor again, this

time with a rule intended to exclude a pro-gun amendment to repeal the

    NPS anti-gun regulations.

If that is the case, I urge you to once again stand up for the Second

Amendment and vote against the rule.

    Sincerely,

    ----- Pre-written letter for those who voted anti-gun -----

    Dear Representative,

I am extremely disappointed that you did not stand up for the Second

Amendment on the issue of S. 22, the Omnibus Public Lands Management Act

    of 2009.

If that is the case, I urge you to protect the Second Amendment rights

of law-abiding Americans and vote against the rule.

    Sincerely,

  6. Emergency Alert!

-- Compromise on massive land bill does not protect Second Amendment

    rights

    http://www.gunowners.org

    Tuesday evening, March 10, 2009

Gun Owners of America does not sound the "Emergency alarm" often -- and

when we do, we mean it.

Remember the massive land bill, S. 22, that passed out of the Senate

    last month?

It was expected to pass quickly in the House, but your opposition to an

expansion of gun control contained in the bill forced it to be pulled

    from the floor.

GOA has just learned that after some backroom deals, the bill is headed

to the floor WEDNESDAY MORNING, without any amendments to truly protect

your Second Amendment rights on National Park Service (NPS) land.

You have fought the battle over the NPS gun ban for a long time.

Unlike U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land,

which allow for state and local law to govern firearms possession, NPS

land is subject to a complete gun ban for any citizen who does not hold

    a concealed carry permit.

The bill coming to the floor March 11 greatly expands NPS land, thus

spreading the agency's anti-gun regulations into more areas.

    S. 22 is actually a compilation of over 190 bills, many of which were

never even debated on their own merits.

Here are just a few examples of land expansions in the bill:

    * Section 5204 of the bill establishes the Washington-Rochambeau Route

as a Historic Trail. This dual trail begins in Rhode Island and travels

650 miles to Yorktown, Virginia. The trail includes parts of major

thoroughfares on the east coast such as Interstate 95 and US Route 1,

meaning the gun ban could effect hundreds of thousands of unsuspecting

    gun owners each day.

    * Section 5301 authorizes the federal government to buy private land

adjacent to national parks and trails. Such land would be controlled by

the NPS, and thus be subject to the agency's anti-gun regulations.

    * Section 7002 makes the birthplace of William Jefferson Clinton a

National Historic Site. Perhaps it's fitting that the legacy of former

President Clinton, who was responsible for so many anti-Second Amendment

laws, will include yet another "gun free" zone.

In all, the bill designates over 2 million acres of wilderness,

establishes three new national parks, a new national monument, three new

national conservation areas, and four new national trails.

In an effort to persuade pro-gun Congressmen to vote for the bill, the

leadership apparently agreed to one backroom change -- an amendment to

    protect hunting and recreational shooting.

The compromise measure misses the point. The founding fathers did not,

in their struggle to secure essential freedoms, craft the Second

Amendment with the idea that it would protect hunting and recreational

    shooting.

It is seemingly simple to understand, yet we have to continually remind

the Congress that the Second Amendment is not about hunting!

If we have any chance of stopping this bill, you must contact your

    Representative right away.

The bill is scheduled to come to the floor before noon, Wednesday, March

    11.

Please don't let Congress sneak this expansion of gun control through

the House under the guise that compromise language protects your Second

    Amendment rights. It doesn't.

ACTION: Right now, please use the Gun Owners Legislative Action Center

at http://gunowners.org/activism.htm to send your Representative the

    pre-written letter below.

    ----- Pre-written letter -----

    Dear Representative,

On March 11, the House intends to take up S. 22, a massive bill

containing nearly 200 separate pieces of legislation.

This bill will greatly expand land controlled by the Nation Park

Service, thereby expanding the agency's anti-gun regulations.

There is compromise language being offered to supposedly protect hunting

and sport shooting. That is insufficient, as the Second Amendment is

NOT about hunting and recreational shooting!

And while there may be some parts of this bill that you support for our

state or our district, please do not give such parochial issues priority

    over my Second Amendment rights.

I urge you, in the strongest possible terms, to vote against this 1,294

page bill until the leadership allows an amendment that will truly

protect the right to keep and bear arms.

Gun Owners of America will rate a vote for this bill as an anti-gun

vote, and will inform me of your position.

    Sincerely,

  7. Anti-gun Land Bill On The Move

-- House Vote Expected This Week

Gun Owners of America E-Mail Alert

8001 Forbes Place, Suite 102, Springfield, VA 22151

    Phone: 703-321-8585 / FAX: 703-321-8408

    http://www.gunowners.org

    Tuesday, February 10, 2009

Lost in all the news of the massive bailout bill that just passed the

Senate is another enormous bill, one that increases federal control of

    public and private land.

Of particular concern to gun owners is that the bill, S. 22, will

greatly expand the amount of land controlled by the National Park

Service. NPS land is currently subject to a gun ban.

While President Bush took steps in the waning days of his presidency to

reverse the ban, the new regulations apply to persons who carry a

concealed firearm with a permit. Non-permit holders and open carry are

    not explicitly addressed.

Another eyebrow-raising aspect of this bill is that it is actually a

compilation of over 150 separate pieces of legislation that never passed

out of Congress on their own merits.

Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) successfully held up over 100 of these bills,

until anti-gun Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid rolled all of the bills

into one so-called Coburn Omnibus and forced it through the Senate in

January on a vote of 73-21.

As the House prepares to take up the bill, the Democrat leadership has

taken procedural steps to ensure that the measure cannot be amended or

altered in any way. That means that if it passes the House, it goes

right to President Obama's desk, where it will be signed into law.

Here are a few of the more troubling aspects of the bill:

    * It authorizes the federal government to buy private land adjacent to

national parks and trails. Such land would be controlled by the NPS,

and thus be subject to the gun ban.

    * The bill federalizes the Washington-Rochambeau Route, a 650 mile trail

that stretches from Rhode Island to Virginia and includes sections of

major thoroughfares such as Interstate 95 and U.S. Route 1, and passes

through cities like Boston and Philadelphia. The entire trail would fall

under the NPS and the gun ban.

    * The National Landscape Conservation System groups together millions of

acres of federal land and places it under one new umbrella agency. The

NLCS was created during the Clinton administration and run

administratively since then. S. 22 will codify the system, which raises

concerns for hunters and sportsmen. Much of this land is consolidated

from the BLM and the Forest Service, which have always allowed hunting

and recreational shooting. It is unclear what rules will be promulgated

by the new agency and if gun owners' rights will be protected.

    * S. 22 strips out small concessions won by pro-gunners in the House

last year that would allow state and local law to govern firearms

possession and hunting on certain land.

    * S.22 allows for NO amendments. Pro-gun members who want to offer an

amendment to fully repeal the NPS gun ban are prevented from doing so by

    the anti-gun leadership.

The full House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on the bill this

    Wednesday or Thursday.

Unless the NPS gun ban is repealed and the rights of gun owners are

protected, Gun Owners of America opposes the bill in its entirety.

ACTION: Please urge your Representative to repeal the NPS gun ban in S.

22, or to vote against the entire bill. You can go to the Gun Owners

Legislative Action Center at http://capwiz.com/gunowners/home/ to send

your Representative the pre-written e-mail message below.

    ----- Prewritten Letter -----

    Dear Representative:

I urge you to oppose S. 22, a bill that will greatly expand the amount

of land controlled by the National Park Service (NPS).

NPS land is currently subject to a gun ban. While President Bush took

steps in the waning days of his presidency to reverse the ban, the new

regulations apply to persons who carry a concealed firearm with a

permit. Non-permit holders and open carry are not explicitly addressed.

Which is why S. 22 raises so many concerns:

    * It authorizes the federal government to buy private land adjacent to

national parks and trails. Such land would be controlled by the NPS,

and thus be subject to the gun ban.

    * The bill federalizes the Washington-Rochambeau Route, a 650 mile

trail, and places it under the NPS gun ban.

    * S. 22 will codify the National Landscape Conservation System, which

raises concerns for hunters and sportsmen. Much of this land is

consolidated from the BLM and the Forest Service, which have always

allowed hunting and recreational shooting. It is unclear what rules

will be promulgated by the new agency and if gun owners' rights will be

    protected.

    * S. 22 also strips out small concessions which were won in the House

last year that would allow state and local law to govern firearms

possession and hunting on certain land. But the anti-gun House

leadership is preventing any amendments to fully repeal the NPS gun ban.

If these concerns are not corrected in S. 22, I would strongly urge you

    to vote against it.

    Thank you.

    Sincerely,

  8. There sure doesn't seem to be much traffic in this part of the forum. Are the 410's that unpopular compaired to the 12's and others? It would be cool to see a photo thread with some of your 410 conversions. That one over in the 12 guage section is awesome. If I can figure out how to post an image I will put up a before pic.

As a weapons manufacturer I developed this prototype with the idea in mind for a law enforcement entry weapon. It is select fire either semi or three shot burst. With a folding stock and the 11" barrel it is as compact as the H&K-MP5 and is also more versatile due to the available of more varied types of ammunition. Since these pictures were taken in 2000 it now has a serrated standoff. This prototype has completed a very rigorous testing phase with no failures to date.

  9. Olofson Family Needs Your Help This Christmas Season

Gun Owners of America E-Mail Alert

8001 Forbes Place, Suite 102, Springfield, VA 22151

    Phone: 703-321-8585 / FAX: 703-321-8408

    http://www.gunowners.org

    Monday, December 22, 2008

Thanks to the many of you who receive our alerts, David Olofson's

family has been well-taken care of for most of 2008. Unfortunately,

    that situation may be changing.

You will remember that this past summer, Olofson was sentenced to 30

months in a federal prison in Minnesota. He was convicted in federal

court of transferring a malfunctioning semi-automatic firearm which

the ATF claimed was a machine gun.

After his conviction, Gun Owners of America became the lead gun

organization fighting against the ATF's persecution of Olofson.

Among our many concerns was the fact that The Gang could use

precedents like this one to prosecute any gun owner who owned a

malfunctioning firearm. For the ATF, a gun that misfires is an

excellent opportunity to rack up an easy conviction on an illegal

    machine gun charge.

In August, GOA submitted an appeal challenging Olofson's conviction

at the district court level. You can read GOA's briefs at:

    http://www.gunowners.com/amicus13.pdf

    http://www.gunowners.com/amicus15.pdf

GOA also set up a relief fund to help pay for his family's mortgage

and car payments. For those who contribute to the Olofson Relief

Fund, their credit card is charged monthly for the amount they have

indicated. This will continue until Olofson is out of prison -- or

the giver notifies us to discontinue the charges.

You can help contribute to that fund at:

    http://www.gunowners.org/olofson.htm

In September, Olofson's wife, Candy, told GOA Executive Director

Larry Pratt that because of the financial help that GOA members have

given, she did not have to get a second job, and thus, she is able to

    spend time being a Mom.

    Again, that situation is changing.

In the past couple of months, some of those who had signed up for

monthly contributions have had to discontinue their giving.

(Remember, those who sign up to help the Olofsons can discontinue

    their contributions at any time.)

Candy would like to avoid taking on a second job, so she can be at

home with her kids. But then again, she doesn't want lose their car

or home, which of course is what will happen if she cannot make the

    payments.

You guys have been a real blessing to Candy and her children. While

GOA continues to provide the legal expertise to free Olofson from

prison, we would like to make you aware of the need that has now

    arisen for the Olofson family.

Would you please consider making a one-time contribution to the

    Olofson family?

OR EVEN BETTER, WOULD YOU CONSIDER MAKING MONTHLY CONTRIBUTIONS? No

    amount is too small.

Some have wondered why we didn't apply for a presidential pardon.

The problem is that a request for a pardon on Olofson's part would

    conflict with his current appeal.

To request a pardon, a defendant has to express his remorse while

asking for executive clemency. In essence, he has to admit his

guilt. If Bush did not grant him the pardon, then Olofson would be

stuck, having admitted his guilt. He would be doubly stuck -- having

admitted his guilt in a situation where there is nothing for him to

    admit guilt to!

Moreover, when this case first went to trial, the prosecution offered

Olofson a "deal" where he could admit guilt in exchange for a lesser

charge (a misdemeanor). Olfoson rejected the deal, arguing that he

did not want to admit guilt when he did nothing wrong.

We certainly don't blame him. But that is yet another reason why an

executive pardon would be out of the question in Olofson's case.

ACTION: Please go to http://www.gunowners.org/olofson.htm to sign up

for monthly contributions -- or even to make a one-time gift -- to

the Olofson Relief Fund. This fund has been set up to allow

concerned Americans to help the Olfosons make their mortgage and

(their one) car payments while Dave is unable to work.

One-time donations to Olofson Relief Fund are exactly that. But if

you choose the monthly giving option, then your credit card will be

automatically charged each month for the amount you have indicated.

As stated earlier, this will continue until Olofson is out of prison

-- or you notify us to discontinue the charges.

    Thank you... and Merry Christmas!
