  1. 1: These are commercial magazines. They are actually a few mm thinner than surplus mags.

That's not true. They're the exact same thickness; both are 0.028".

IMO, the only advantage the surplus mags have over the Bulgarians is the design of the feed lip. Otherwise, the two are almost identical.

Just going off the info here:

    and here:

Ill buy one and test the thickness myself while posting pictures, that way we can avoid confusion.

I just measured both with a set of digital calipers. Also, the Bulgarians also seem to have stronger feed pressure (probably because the spring is also a touch thicker, @ 1.6mm for the Bulgies and 1.51mm for the surplus).

Ironically, the finish is better on the surplus mags than the Bulgarians.

+1 for doing the tests. This will be the last time I base my opinion off of theakforum without testing it beforehand. Still, I am worried about the poly followers, but I will do a series of tests myself to determine if my initial understanding of these things was full of shit.

  3. have you thought about dropping $469 and buying the 22lr trainer clone that ISSC puts out? Supposedly its built really close to the real thing unlike the GSG crap that was floating around out there.

Someone just pointed to this video on another forum where the trainer gets run over by an SUV and lives to shoot:

Anyway it may be worth the purchase. :smoke:

  4. Form follows function. DO not add retardasity at the expense of function.... :haha:

Exactly what function is being compromised with the PSL-style stock?

It has the following characteristics which compromise function:

    -Weight

-Lack of ability for thumb to create a full seal

-Lack of compartment for cleaning kit

-Awkward placement of second finger (the one under the trigger finger sits to far away from the trigger on Romanian thumbhole stocks)

There are probably a lot of other reasons, but I can think of them off the top of my head.

    Thanks bigsal!!

You are welcome, they look minty! You know, I have about 4 magazines that I use for the range and the rest I keep in storage. I would keep those beauties in storage! shoot the ugly ones....

  6. Some folks need to read rule three for the Ad Forum. It's not an auction site.

And some people need to learn the difference between Auctioning and Haggling...

Here, I'll make it easy for you:

    Auction:

An auction is a process of buying and selling goods or services by offering them up for bid, taking bids, and then selling the item to the highest bidder.

    Haggle:

Bargaining or haggling is a type of negotiation in which the buyer and seller of a good or service dispute the price which will be paid and the exact nature of the transaction that will take place, and eventually come to an agreement

^This is correct. There is nothing in the rules against making a counter offer. The worst a person can do is say 'No'.

  7. I'm not telling you there is no difference in accuracy.

I'm telling you that 300 yards is a routine shot for AKSU's, which is based on actually shooting them as opposed to reading about them on the Internet. The muzzle velocity difference is an academic discussion, real world accuracy is excellent despite the difference in barrel length. They don't lack accuracy beyond 100m and to suggest they do is misleading.

There is a tendency for people to keep thinking AK's are inaccurate, but even 8" barrel 7.62 SLR107's will hit at 300 yards pretty consistently, particularly when used with a red dot which eliminates sight radius problems at those distances. All I can say is what many people already do, that AK's have excellent practical accuracy and can reliably score hits past 300m with a decent shooter behind the trigger.

    Z

I will yield to your real world experience bro, but a 16" barrel would be much more consistent in reaching out beyond 100m as I originally stated. That is unless the laws of physics are temporaraly suspended around Krinkovs..... :haha:

(but seriously, no disrespect intended, I dont doubt you are getting those results)

November, TEOTWAKI begins, there, I said it...

It's not "their government" they refuse to admit they are Jordanians and insist that they are "Palestinians" and claim Israel as their own.

in 1922 the country that is now Jordan was named "Arab Palestine" and the part now called Israel was called "Jewish Palestine" when "Arab Palestinians" went to "Jewish Palestine" because of the much better jobs and western style reforms and services the Hashemites claimed the land as JORDAN, in 1948 when the King of the Hashemites and John Baggot Glubb promised to annihilate the Jews and seize the fledgling state of Israel all of those Palestinians moved to Jordan to wait out the genocidal slaughter of the Jews to be over.

The Jews did not comply and now the "Palestinians" live on Jordanian welfare as refugees without full legal citizenship.

Abdallah's father already dealt with these scumbags in the early 70s, they burned public buildings, killed police officers and seized military weapons from their benefactors under the direction of Arafat(an Egyptian troublemaker).

There is no "Goodguy" in this equation but for my money I will side with the King of the Hashemites since he is the inheritor of the man who freed the Arabs from Ottoman domination and a worthy hero to all Arabs.

...there are two sides to that coin SOPMOD. The Palestinians would argue that there is a foreign occupation force sitting on their land preventing them from returning... Not saying ether side is closer to the mark than the other, just putting it out there that there are two sides to the Palestinian/Israeli conflict.

Sadly for many innocent protesters of a unpleasant government they will not see their birthdays and it is TEOTWATKI tonight. Few more hours and the sun will be rising for them and and has set for us. Paid goons and criminals are wreaking havoc on trapped protesters through the night, soon the sun will rise to another tough day for them. All likely promoted by the government, teach those filthy protesters a lesson! release the dogs on them! Yep thats how their government has been working for years.

Lets hope these guys don't get slaughtered.
