  1. Thanks, Sal, I will. It arrives at my FFL Monday, along with folding stock, 5 mags, pouch, bayonet, etc. I ordered a fixed stock, 3 more mags, US followers and floor plates, sling, and another pouch from Czechpoint. I can't survive with less than 8 magazines!

Your welcome bro, just remember to post pictures when you get it and remove the incorrect slant brake!!!

  2. Its hit or miss with the barrels. If you get a Mercury Hermes unconverted saiga you stand a better chance of getting one with a non stepped barrel (and a 100% chance of getting dimples). Good Luck, and post pics when you finally buy one!

  3. Anyone have any info as to whether or not US Palm has or is addressing the issue with their AK30 mag bottoms popping off?

Mine have held together thus far. However I did not run them in the rain yet. Considering these things are held together by glue, it would be interesting to see how they run after a South-Idaho rainstorm, or in the North-Idaho snow. Maybe Ill do a test this weekend if time permits.

  4. I am sure I am not the first person to ask this question, nor will I probably be the last person to ask this question, but I just thought it might be helpful to get some opinions on what is the best side-mounted optic out there. I'm looking for something Russian (of course), something well worth the money and functions flawlessly. My biggest fear is that it might sit too far forward or too far back for myself, on top of blowing three hundred dollars on an optic that won't function right for me. Looking over what Kalinka has to offer, I've come across numerous side-mounted optics that have caught my attention. They include:

These scopes are the ones that have caught my eye and am willing to put money down on if any of them are worth it. I know most of it is preference, but perhaps some of you have some of the models yourselves and have used others as well and have a good opinion on which you would prefer over another. I'm not trying to turn my AK-47 into a sniper rifle; I just want something that'll be good for CQB and at least useful to medium/long range shots. I honestly prefer durability above all else, so it being waterproof would be an extra plus. Thank you!

PK-AS-S (not PK-AS-V)due to the ability to use even when the batteries die, and the fact it sits slightly offset to the left and you can still use the iron sights as well.

Accept the best, not the rest. :blues:

  5. I have, and knew it was coming.........

Sgt. Todd Eby told the Detroit Free Press that he was sitting at his desk at the precinct when the gunman walked in around 4:20 p.m. with a pistol grip shotgun and opened fire. He said officers shot back at the gunman, killing him.

I told some buddy's last week, the old lady heard me too. It's a set up. "something's gonna go down, and they are going to use it".

We will know tomorrow if this is some kind of psy-op or not, but lets face the facts it may just be a nut-case who decided to use a shotgun and nothing more. I normally give you -1's on every one of your posts Sly, but this one is kind of interesting, so Ill hold off....

  6. blah blah blah

A.) Taurus, in a moment of (IMHO) utter lack of foresight has introduced basically an AOW in the form of the 28ga Raging Judge. Without rifling, it doesn't take a legal eagle to realize that 1.) its over .5" in bore. 2.) Has a barrel under 18". 3.) Is imported from Brazil. This firearm, assuming that the princeblog is correct, is almost definitely a target for Monday.

    blah blah blah

I think you are right with the Taurus ban, but who is to say that they wont go the same way with our beloved S12.... Its better to buy one now and be safe.... or maybe its better to buy one right after the panic when people are unloading their units in disappointment... Who is to say, all I know is I need a few S12s anyway for sporting purposes here in Idaho and I might as well drop the coin... :smoke:

  7. Shooter, what kind of legislation do you speak of??? These JBT's are in no legislative position. They are executive playing from the cuff types that really have no constitutional authority to be doing all of this

Some would argue that that isn't the case Beef, the 1968 Gun Control Act is a legal statute and the ATF has the responsibility to determine "sporting" weapons classifications under this act.

They would put forward that you can say what you want to about it being fair, or about it being far from the original intentions of the founders, but you cannot say the action is illegal or un-constiutional....

...I wouldn't argue this, but some would.

  8. So now I am hoping the atf makes pistol griped units DD's and gives a 30 day window to register them.... if they dont, Im blaming you Boba.. :haha:

I'm screwed that way too, I have two Pistol gripped Mossy 500s :lolol:

the issue will come down to how fast K-Var can ship the item out to me. If the ATF says something like "any S12's transfered after this point cant have a pistol grip..." then Im fucked, if they say "any S12's in possession after February with pistol grips must be registered and get a free DD stamp..." then I am in the money.

Its a gamble, and BigSal hates gambling... :smoke:

I was told over and over again that once you bought something and the sale is made and recorded by the seller, it's yours regardless of whether or not the gun has left the possession of the seller. In other words, the "sale" is where the "transfer" takes place. I've never heard anything since to contradict that.

the idea isnt the sale, but weather or not I will legally be allowed to modify the shotgun to accommodate a pistol grip after Monday. If the ATF gives a 30 day window, I should be ok.... if not I just wasted $489....

  10. To answer the question, yes, you can cut the barrel to any length on a registered DD.

    Tony

    Thanks Tony.

For the sake of everyone involved I'm hoping for the best and you bussiness menbers will be in my prayers.

Even though I'm optimistic I'm sStill gonna buy me two S-12s if I can scratch up the hobby cash

Worst case scenario I might dip into the saving I had set aside for the 2 Keltec RFBs I'm waiting to buy.

OK fuck it, Im gonna do the same thing. Its a gamble, because I hate shotguns, but if I dont buy a few now Im gonna be kicking myself come monday....

  11. This should be moved to the politics section.

No, it shouldn't. This is an article that provides good talking points about how

to defeat arguments about the 2nd Amendment, and everyone should read it.

That's why I put it in General in the first place.

I trust that we can continue to have the civil, not particularly politically biased,

conversation that we are having here.

The thread is inherently political. It does not belong in this section. Nuff said.

  12. 2 Hours ago US-Palm issued this message via their twitter account: "For the LAST, the SALE were not Nazi. Read up people!". I assume they meant to say "for the last time, we are not nazis".

Again, US-Palm, I know you have read this thread. I know you want to put out a good product. Please read my open letter above and take my advice. :blues:

I don't see how they can refute your review bigsal, I don't think I've ever seen such an in-depth stress test of magazines before.

Sometimes it is difficult for people to admit their failings. I think once they sit down and really thing about how they can improve the magazine they will come to a lot of the conclusions I list above.
