  1. I was thinking if you add in the accessories(light and grip pod), around 5ish. But thats just me.

As for the fella giving me an offer for 800....Am I really that wrong if I took it? I mean it may not be worth it to some one else. But i think of it like a house or car. If some one comes up and gives you an offer and its much more than its book value. Would you not take it?

Dont get me wrong, im not the kind of person that is out to rip anyone off...its just hard not to say hell ya when some one gives you such a nice offer on some t hing.

if you dont take 800 for it your an idiot. :haha: In this market you WILL NEVER EVER EVER get that kind of cash for that build. Cash out when you can bro.....

  2. These look like a fine low cost option. While I prefer my rifles to have paint over park, thats really more of a finish issue, and not really what most buyers in this segment care about. Still, I would likely steer the OP to a WASR-10 instead of these (Atlantic also sells WASR's, and Im sure they are a fine group to deal with).

    Good Luck!

  3. These are not the IO INC series of rifles these are made by Interarms / High Standard .

Atlantic, I have some questions: It appears there is no paint over the parkerization on these rifles, is that true? Is it an NDS receiver they use? It also appears they use surplus Bulgarian stock sets, does that mean these stocks were some of the rejected units that did not find their way into parts kits on the bulgy 74's everyone has had for sale for the last year? Please clarify,

    Thanks,

    Sal

  4. Boy, I sure am glad the American people were made to "bail out" Ford... Look at all those jobs that were "saved or created" for Americans!

    Wait, err... Nevermind.

Ford didnt take bail out money it was GM.....

It was a joke. I like Ford, to some degree. I know GM took the bailout, I was looking to make a cheap "joke" along the OP lines: We're screwed as far as manufacturing is concerned. Just add it to the list.

You'll notice I did not, nor will I edit the first post I made?

Just bein' "Bubba", see who's awake. For the record I don't like Beck, think he's a tool. I'm listening to Dr. Savage as I type!

Ha, even worse! Im gonna send you some Chomsky books on tape for you to listen to.... you need to detox bro! :super:

  5. The issue is the frequency of the failures or of the problems. So for example, the Kalashnikov rifle may have had a few bad lemons, but for the most part provides a stable, safe system. Items made by Kel Tec on the other hand (which fail much more regularly than most other pistols/rifles) are considered unsafe at any speed....

So, finding a random AK blowing up (even if it was one built in someones basement by a cave dweller) doesn't mean anything.

  6. budsgunshop.com has them for the cheapest price online as of 3 minutes ago. Plus they offer free shipping.

Thanks, did you ever get that Estava you were considering?

Yes I picked up an EZ9 from buds a few months ago. I am thinking of getting a few more as my unit is fairly perfect in every way(also its now $300 shipped)!!!!

Still the cold war CZ75 looks too sweet to miss out on. Decisions decisions right...

EDIT:> Just noticed Buds raised the EZ9 Price to $455 shipped. My decision has become easier.

  7. I'm about to start a 7.62x39 project. I want to be able to mount a bayonet when I'm done and I'm wondering what muzzle devices I can use other then the slant brake?

The modern bayonets mount on the bottom of the FSB with a lug and on the ridge of the 74 style brake. Are you going for a 103 style conversion?

  8.

Thanks for your kind words regarding the rails looks. There was a couple thought processes going on this rail setup. 1st. it gives the DIY guys a real platform to build off of. We have a couple slick alterations designed for dust cover that DO IT YOURSELVES can make along with our DIY kit that will make this a one step open process. 2nd. we wanted people to still have a standard bolt on full rail system that they could improve on later. I think once people understand how many options they have with this rail, they'll flip!

This is sounding better and better each day.... :super:

  9. Bigsal, i work for an FFL in SW Florida and have hands on experience with hundreds of guns from all across the firearm spectrum. Yes ive seen Keltecs fail, but ive also seen Glocks/Kahrs/Rohrbaughs fail.

I would say 9 out of every 10 guns we get back for repair are from Taurus, the other 10% are a conglomeration of other manufactures (Kimber, Sig, Colt, S&W and so on)

We sell more P3AT's then LCP's yet we get back more LCP's for repairs then we do P3AT's. We also sell Kahr P380's and return more of those then the keltecs, even though the P3AT's out sell them 5 to 1

We also sell approximately 5 PF9's a week and have had to return 2 to Keltec in the past year or so for feeding issues. On the Flip side we sell about 2 Kahr PM9s a month and we get those back more ofter (go figure)

Ive sold many sub200's with zero complaints, never had a single one come back for repair. I would usually compare it to another firearm at this point in time but there isn't one that i can think of that even comes close..

Im not saying they haven't had their fair share of problems over the years (nearly every manufactured has), but i think Keltec is running a much better operation then it was a few years back. Better materials, better machining and better designs.

They are also one of the only American companys that has shown any sort of true innovation in the past 15 years, they are the only company who has multiple firearms that cant be compared to anything else on the market because they are the only ones coming out with new shit.

No firearm company is going to be 100% reliable 100% of the time.

If needed i can provide pics of Glocks, M&Ps, Berettas, Mossbergs and Kimbers that have all suffered catastrophic failures.

Again, its a numbers game. One is FAR less likely to have problems with a Glock, Sig, CZ or Zastava pistol than with something Kel Tec spews out. As for being the only innovative American company I really doubt thats true, I mean there are plenty of Vendors on this forum whose products are made right here, are plenty unique and actually work without failure....
