Thanks guys. I do have AAA, so maybe I'll check with them. I've been using Madrid as the destination, I know there's probably other airports in Spain, but I don't know what they are, I guess I should find out.

Yes, you need a valid US passport and a visa to enter and leave a foreign country in my experience. Your Visa will call out dates and purpose of the visit even if it is not business related. When you enter the country they are likely to ask where you are staying during your visit. If you stay at a hotel they will ask for your passport too. Most countries don't let strangers run wild across their borders and soak up their social benefits like the US does. They want to know why you are there and how long you will be and what day you are leaving.
Good luck on shopping out the best price. A travel agency can help you aquire the required visa and airline tickets. You should have your passport already. It takes about 6 weeks to get one when you file but they are good for 10 years.

I was told in a Fed Ex office that their policy is to ship all firearms overnight only. The cost was around $140 as I recall. I laughed and walked out. This after the same guy took one in from me two weeks earlier and shipped it ground for $20. He must have got reamed. I then went to a major service center for UPS and shipped it for $25 from MI to the deep south to a FFL. That was in the last year. I've never tried the USPS as my confidence in proper handling of high value items especially weapons by the PO is in quesion. They question every Priority Mail box I ship. I can't imagine their reaction to a firearm in the local branch office which is staffed by two people. I would Google their respective web sites and read their firearms policies to be sure and to save time running around.

Thank Congress for that. They're the ones who mandated low flow toilets you have to flush multiple times to get the "job" done......the morons. They didn't save an ounce of water with their eco-friendly solution to saving water.

The Feds obviously want to get at the goods before the old man dies and they are dispersed to the winds. It would be interesting to know who or what prompted the investigation. Maybe a tribe or a government but probably a collector who couldn't persuade the old gent to sell to him. The old man is not likely to live long enough to see justice in the courts.At least the old timer has lived a full and interesting life of his own choosing.

Rotating that stock could be a lot of fun but a little expensive. I'm not sure I could store that much ammo in the basement without getting rid of some other stuff first. My wife might have something to say about that. Ever heard of a bullet bed? Extra firm but not too form fitting.

I'm surprised that vigilante groups have not formed and addressed out of control issues since it is beyond what the police can or will do. It could happen yet if the mob attacks continue with any degree of frequency. I would imagine there are some Stormfront members out there with itchy fingers who would be more than happy to tackle the job.
Id assume certain militia like groups would jump at the opportunity to squash these things, but if they are not assembled where the problem is, they cant do much of anything. It would be nice if there was a stormfront convention close by, when these things get out of hand.

Your right. It provided an interesting mental picture for a moment, but is actually a really shitty solution (my initial thought of skinheads pouring from some nearby social hall with chains and bats).
The best solution would be an armed populace that would deter such assholes from rioting to begin with. Its pretty obvious that a quick starting mob can do a ton of damage before the police can get in place to stop it.
An armed populace is the best solution but I expect the rioters will carry and shoot back after the initial surprise and flight. In other words, the more frequently there is an armed response the more frequently there is likely to an exchange of fire. The element of surprise and gunfire will be lost through experience. Hopefully, the groups would diminish looking to avoid getting shot but that is not the experience of ghetto life where young men carry and kill each other every day. People often do stupid things in groups that they would never do alone. It is basic human psychology.

As I said, the use of trained Swat or national Guard troops assumes the rule of law not chaos, or stormtroopers. If you have no faith in trained professionals to clean up rioters you are left with chaos and whoever shoots the straightest and has the most rounds. Pretty soon you end up with the "Walking Dead" scenario. That would be put down by use of military troops and martial law by the President. Do you really think SWAT and the National Guard are nothing more than the equivilent of Nazi's? If so, who is "Hitler"?
Last time I checked SWAT and NG were not calling for the death and or deportation of all foriegners, Jews, none whites, minorities...etc...etc... I have yet to see them round up all these people....and ONLY these people..... and send them to the ovens.
Sorry, my misread on your response. I thought you were referring to the law enforcement end of business rather than addressing the Stormfront gang of haters. I have a feeling that anybody not listed as a brother of the Aryan Nation or Skinheads may well be on their "list".

Maybe the urban area could use Swat Teams to control crowds and riots rather than busting down doors in the middle of the night of pot dealers but that is another thread. That's what I'd do if I was mayor. And if that was not sufficient I would call on the Governor to dispatch National Guard troops to help contain and detain rioters. They would be prosecuted for their crimes against others and society. It's the rule of law man!

Thanks for the feedback. I bet the 69 gr and 75 gr stuff is both hard to find and expensive. Still I'd like to stock up a couple of thousand rounds. I do have some 5.56 62 gr. green tips on hand already.

I must confess I don't have a lot of experience with M-4 's and the various types of ammo. I used an M-16 near the end of the VietNam era (early '70's) and hated it. I found the sound of the spring annoying and distracting on top of other known issues with the M-16 rifle. I have been shooting handguns, AK's and M1A's over the years.
I recently bought a new Colt LE6940 with the monolithic rail. I thought I couldn't go wrong with a Colt. It has the 1:7 twist.
Now for my question. What is the difference between M855 and XM193 ammo? With a 1:7 twist which bullet is more stable or preferable.....55 grs. or 62 grs?
I would appreciate your input. Thanks.

Personally, I'd rather leave it up to the medical authorities to report individual cases when people present as a real risk. That's their obligation now. They just need to keep those who are crazy locked up so they don't get out in 48 hours to roam the streets and do their damage.
The difference is now the gov't is looking over the shoulder of your Dr. where before s/he could use his/her best judgment. It's by the book now. Get ready for the gov't to see everything about you medically. And I mean everything.

Fuckin trying to watch Skyfall on comcast and the sound drops every 45 seconds. This sucks.I get the frozen screen thing every few minutes on Comcast TV. You lose voice and motion....on HBO too.. It seems like a satellite gitch. I'm not very happy with Comcast. They're too big for their britches. I moved 6 months ago and moving the service was a nightmare. I spent countless hours on the phone and three trips to the local Comcast office getting it worked out. Apparently when you move they treat you like a brand new account. I ended up with two mailboxes that their techs could not merge. In fact they lost or dumped my original mail and I lost tons of saved emails. After weeks and weeks a tech with a service ticket called me and got it fixed.
My internet was running so slow last night (16 mbps) that it would just drop out and no longer connect. I reset my modem and router several times trying to root out if it was on my end. That went on for a couple of hours. I tried calling 1-800-COMCAST only to find out that number no longer works. Most annoying. I understand ATT Uverse is not a serious option. Oh well, the free HBO is going in a couple of weeks anyway. My free 6 months are nearly up and I won't pay their ridiculous rates for recycled TV and movies with service performance problems. There are better things to do with my time anyway. I usually watch TV before I crash at night. The wife has the tube tuned in during the day while doing domestic chores. I think our brains would get bigger if we cut the TV service and sold the big screens. Of course my son who plays games on them might have something to say about losing the screens. There goes Skyrim......

Blocking sales of Russian weapons and ammo in the US would be like picking low hanging fruit for Obama. Considering it would also serve his agenda on guns and ammo in this country I believe you can almost count on it as "sanctions" against Russia mount.
