I just got two new Surefire 12 mags, they look beautiful, but neither will lock up fully. It appears that the upper rib on the rear of the magazine prevents the mag from seating fully, as it touches the receiver at the rear of the magwell before the tab locks.
Anybody else having this problem?
I'm pretty sure I can fix it with a little dremel/file work, anybody done this successfully yet?

I ordered mine on 12/14, hopefully I'll be getting a shipping email soon!!!

Thanks for the help guys! Looks like I have the newer front sight. I may drill & tap or just smooth it down and go for the AK style front sight tower.

I tried unscrewing it, counterclockwise then clockwise... It's not coming out... Any tips besides soak it in oil for bit?

Does the stock S12 front bead sight screw off, or is it riveted or welded?
I just picked up a Hi-Viz bead sight that has threaded posts and would hopefully screw in.. Anybody know for sure before? Maybe drilling and threading is in order?

If you gotta go WalMart go with the Federal Value packs.

That should be good enough. maybe a stronger spring? My folder is a non-pushbutton and it takes real effort to fold it. Not a whole lot to unfold it tho...

Sweet! Good job!

I had the same exact issue with the right side of the spring right after conversion. Found it after a few minutes of tinkering. Works like a champ now.
The issue was the spring was causing the hammer to get caught on the back trigger hook, not providing enough tension to return the trigger to firing position. The bolt carrier was getting caught up on the spring also, the gun was jamming inconsistently, but every time the trigger was pulled for the follow up shot, nothing happened.
That's why I did a function test on my conversion before showing it off to my buddies.

What I did:
- Pop the butt off and the FCG out.
- Hacksaw the tang off flush, pretty it up with dremel.
- Drill and tap out the trigger guard rivets, drive out trigger rivets.
- Attach Tromix DIY triggerguard.
- Dremel the ACE receiver stock adapter to fit.
- Put it all back together.
It was way easier than I thought- just remember: when replacing the FCG make sure to put the trigger pin, BHO, and crook in first, THEN the hammer and hammer axis. SOOOOO much easier that way... That was the longest and most frustrating part of the conversion for me...
The long folding ace buttstock seemed like it was going to have way too much LOP, but it actually feels very natural to me, but I am pretty tall...

Can't wait to buy one!

I just converted mine today. With a dremel, drill, hack saw, and a file it went together in about 3 hours of tinkering. If you use the Tromix DIY trigger guard all you have to do is demil, then you're putting the TG and the stock on, no cutting into the receiver. Figuring out how to put the bolt hold open spring back in took the longest, now I'm ready to test fire tomorrow.
YOU CAN DO IT!
