Can a Ruger MKII 308 shoot the same cheap surplus ammo as the Saiga 308? Stupid question I know, but I want to get a firearm that shoots the same ammo as something I already have (another 762x39 semi auto) or possibly a Saiga 308.

What are Saiga's going for down there? 308's can be had locally for $600 and the x39's for $455. What are you guys paying down there?

[Where to get metal magazines]

Where can I order metal 10 round magazines from? I tried Cheaper than dirt, but I only found AK stuff. I want something that will fit my Saiga 7.62x39 as is without mods for now. The metal 30 round mag I have seems to slip in easier than the plastic/poly 10 rounder. (Gotta shoot 10 round mags at the state rifle range. ) I tried gun broker, but couldn't find anything but plastic.

Absolutely, buy two if you can.

 

 

I just bought a new, unfired Saiga for $375 including a 10 round plastic/synthetic mag and a 30 round metal mag. The guy didn't have the box (he said his wife tossed it out), but I wanted to put it in the safe and sit on it for awhile.

 

I also have the opportunity to buy a used Saiga at the gunshop for $350.

 

Do you guys think its worth buying the used one and using it as a shooter and making the new on a safe queen to resell in the future? Both are stock, unmodified.
