[Bulgy FSB over threaded barrel]

I have a 20 ton press, i just can't figure out how i'm going to press the gb and fsb with the barrel attached to the receiver, i don't want to destroy the reciever nor do i want the take the barrel off.

When I did my .223 conversion, cut the shroud off and threaded the barrel using the die. now, i want to add the handguard retainer, change the gb and fsb. I want the bayo lug and cleaning rode. since i have threaded the barrel, will the bulgy ak74 fsb w/ 24mm threads just go over existing threads??

 

Im also trying to find how to install fsb and gb on saigas instructions/videos. can't find anything other than how to remove them. thanks.....

[wasr 10 muzzle brake retaining pin]

I was able to tap out the front fsb pin. I had to tap the retaining pin in then push it out using from the fsb hole. Worked out great thanks.

After getting the pin out. Will the pin just come out? Will it come out from the front of the fsb or rear? Also since my wasr has canted sights, can I knock out the second pin and adjust the post? And do I just put yhe pins back?

I was removing the muzzle brake off of my wasr 10 and the retaining pin got stuck. I cant pop it back out to secure the muzzle brake. Looks like a piece of metal shaving from the muzzle brake got stuck in there when twisting the brake off. Is there a fix or am i screwed? Is there a way to remove the pin/spring? thanks.

It wont cut LH, It will mess up the die, break off points of the die.

Just buy the right die.

I am all about DIYing but don't try to jimmy-rig the gun and abuse the tool. I've got the tap and alignment tool. I won't be using it again. PM me if you want to buy/rent it from me.

[Saiga barrel threading using regular dies]

I want to thread the barrels of my 7.62 and .223. I cut the shrouds off and unfortunately the 7.62 is not threaded. I want 14mx1 LH threads. Can I use a standard die to thread the barrel. I have die sets already. can i use the standard die "up side down" where it cuts it LH. or do i have to buy a new die? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I don't feel too comfortable w/ myself welding on to the tab. I'll post pics of my "special mod". I'll give greg at css a call to see what he has.

 

I pick up my .223 saiga tues and will start on the conversion, hope that one doesn't do the same thing.

[saiga 7.62 conversion issue (safety)]

Hello all, new here. After doing the conversion on my 7.62, the safety lever in the safe position does not reach the trigger bars rendering it safe. I tried different safety lever and same thing. I got my conversion kit from css w/ the tapco g2 trigger group. as a temporary solution, i wrapped a piece metal around the inner part of the safety lever to keep the trigger bars from tilting up, releasing the hammer. Will that due or did I do something wrong? maybe a different safety lever? Thanks in advance.
