  1. I have property (10 acres) in 'WAY West' TEXAS and wanted to know if anyone on here was nearby??

Getting my survey done in the next few weeks and wanted to know if anyone had any info on the area and places to hang/shoot at? I've had the property 6+ years and decided it was time...

Its between Van Horn (79855) and Valentine (79854) right off I-90.. Its in Jeff Davis County...

(and yes I've got a road into my property, and NO its not a 'ranch'/development thingy)

Looking to get out of PA soon and be (more) FREEE... 027.gif

    Al

You know what's funny, as far as guns go at least, PA probably has more liberal gun laws than Texas.

TX doesn't have open carry, also, I don't think you can carry in a bar there like you can in PA either. TX CCW also needs a class/qualification IIRC, it's not just a walk in/mail in thing like PA.

Only thing I can think of, guns wise, that you gain in TX is private handgun sales. Of course, having your own patch of 10 acres is pretty sweet.

Nebraska has open carry. I dare you to walk into a bar or school system or even a WalMart Super Center. If You don't go to jail, you will spend a Loong time explaining your actions. In the country no one cares, it's the city folk that get upset. Put it up on your dash or your vehicle, it's ok. Or gun racks in a pickup.

  2. Whoa... Didn't have too go to far for this one:

Welcome to the forum, Alaska... I just HAD to. I actually think EVERYTHING about this S-12 rocks, with the exception of the brake... and this mag. I understand the brake is functional, and works for competetion... Just looks a little... You know.

    :super:

You would probably lump mine in the same catagory. I have a Romainian Wire folding stock with grenade launcher rubber pad. An AR15 grip, An ak style ribbed cover I fabbed. and a few other pieces that make it ugly and less desirable. I don't really care. It shoots all day long with little or no recoil. I took it out at one time and put 450 rounds thru it, and my shoulder didn't feel a thing the next day. A mix of crap, slugs and 00 buck. So I don't care what it looks like - it functions. Drums or stick, it goes. No fancy gadgets. Just gun. I did end up buying a chaos porkypine because the price was so damn low. It gives it a "balanced" look believe it or not. Other than that, it is just gun, and suits me well. I have no intentions of changing it to meet acceptable asthetics. It's ugly, It gets the job done.

  3. Methinks yes bohound. ;)

BCJ sorry to hear about your pup bro....RIP. :( Our dogs are like our children, to those of us that have no real kids of our own...man's best friend.

I hear ya about having problems at home that sometimes effect our mood on the forum. I have had had a CRONIC problem with that myself over the years...this last year especially! As someone who has battled some serious issues at home ever since I joined here over 5 yrs ago...from losing my wife and soul mate of 17 yrs (then falling into depression and just barely keeping from losing my own life), to losing several longtime pets, losing those I thought were friends, to losing work, struggling the whole time not to lose my home and property (and still struggling with that every day), ending up battling cancer myself for this past year or so which left me with a whole slew of new problems for life... losing most of the use of my shoulder and right arm which is now in constant pain, most of my hearing, lifetime tinnitus (ringing in the ears), my ability to make saliva (a huge one that everyone takes for granted), get any good sleep, eat most things I used to enjoy, even open my mouth more than one inch...lost over 50 pounds that I can't seem to gain any back because I can't eat enough, lost or have been continually delayed in some very important business deals (including but not limited to...the cursed LRBHO device I should have just said fuck it and released as is, a few years ago....<_<) , due to depending on help from a few other people who all ended up being nothing but problems themselves..., jesus I could go on but this is getting depressing....

Some things I've learned though through all of this shit...

    1. Number one...life is a lot more important than worrying about a bunch of whiney little assholes on an internet forum.

    2. There are people here who are capable of being real friends to you, and who don't let trivial personal problems, or even money get in the way of actual friendship and honor.

    3. The good things here on this forum actually helped save my life a couple of times when I was able to block out the bad. People were here for me in times of need.

    4. No matter how bad shit seems to get, there is always something good just around the bend, you just have to be patient enough to find it. I found Racegal20 when I thought life was over in that respect. We've had our own ups and downs over the last three years, but both have appreciated each other enough to be there for each other when it was really needed. In just three years we have both actually managed to help save the other's life. That's big IMO. She hardly ever comes around here any more because of the new environment of hatred and deceit here... where she used to really enjoy learning about firearms and being able to talk freely about the political problems that are stripping us of more and more of our rights daily...she also contributed more cash money to the forum, out of her empty pockets, in the first 6 months she was a member here, than most ever will...all because she was so impressed with this great group of people and the wealth of knowledge here.

    5. I've learned that it just ain't worth it to argue with some of the small minded people here. Who gives a shit what they think?

    6. (this one I have to keep reminding myself of and I'm not always successful...) It's best not to even post at all when you are angered or otherwise emotionally triggered by something you see someone else say. If you do type a response, it's best to walk away and leave it for awhile before actually posting it, then be sure and read it again when you have cooled down, it will probably need a little editing before posting it. (unless you happen to be one of these dickheads here who are able to post absolutely anything they want, and still get away with it and not be attacked)

Trolling and personal attacks are something some people here aren't really bothered by, they even find it amusing....but to those of us who rely on this forum for the majority of their work, and income that comes from that, it can be a real problem, especially when it becomes something enjoyed by a growing number of people. The vendors here do support this forum in a big way. Because of them, not only is a lot of money generated that keeps the forum paid for and going, we also draw a whole lot of people here because of the goods and services we offer the community...not to mention the vast amount of knowledge we pass on. If someone like myself, who has a tendency to let their blood boil over some things that should be let go, gets attacked by one or more people, then responds in just the manner they want, with further rudeness and attacks (as unprofessional as that may be, it's human nature to defend one's self against attacks), it becomes an endless circle and nobody wins. I have definitely been rude as hell to a few people here, who deserved it after what they said to or about me. Because of that I have made some enemies here...closed minded people I would rather not do business with anyway...) It sucks when someone has to actually has to stoop to the level of idiots to defend their own name around here, against people who have not contributed near the amount of good things over time here. Believe me, I have heard the other business members here state the same concerns in our private forum, they just don't like to be vocal about it in public, for fear of losing business?

That is where the staff here should jump in and put an END to the bullshit attacks and ridiculous personal problems some people have ...with me or anyone else here they don't care to share cyber space with. If that's too big a task with all the rest of the responsibilties, then maybe we need more Mods.

Off my soapbox for the day....as usual, when I start voicing my concerns around here, which are many, my post becomes too long.....sorry.

    e

No mater how you stack it, I ain't got shit to whine about. Thanks for the kind words about my little doggie. I've seen some of what you've been through here. I'll try to fucking man up.

  4. I wanna make a blaster.

I don't know the laws, but boy what a surprise if anyone's hassleing you at a stop light!

If you hit it after getting pulled over (before the officer gets along side you  ) He may not even approach the car to ticket you!

I figure a momentary foot switch that operates a solenoid, high pressure fuel injector type fuel pumps & igniters like you'd find on a gas stove. The switch would operate all functions at the same time, so I wouldn't have to move my hands to use it, just step on a button.

I don't know what type of nozzles to use though. Maybe high flow fuel injectors?

Gasoline from the gas tank would be the fuel supply.

Here's what it does... Too bad the guy doesn't make the kit any longer.

Just another tool for our war in the Zombie Attacks!

  5. And There also idiots like me, who let a lot of stuff happening in life get in the way of whats important, and lash out at people for no coherent reason. One of the deals is out of the way now, so to speak. I just put down a doggie that was nearing 19 years old. She had a large cancer tumor, and the last week or so starting licking it incessantly, while at the same time eating less and less. Everything else worked - eyes clear, good selective hearing (lol) and she was able to get around pretty good with some help up once in awhile. She finally got where she couldn't get up on her own, and had licked the tumor into a large oozing wound. So, the 21st, I took her in and had her put down. She had been with me almost 1/2 my life, and I'm going to be 47 in a couple of days. Today was the first day I've come home from work in almost 19 years and she wasn't here. I'm trying not to post until I get my head cleared up. I hope I learned a few lessons (a lot) along the way that she tried to teach me, I haven't been batting so well around here for awhile. Sorry.

  6. Just got back from my 3rd and last nephew to graduate tonite. Before the ceremonies started, we faced the American Flag and sang the National Anthem, hat wearers were asked to remove their hats in respect for the vets. Later, the "opening" girl gave her speech and ended in a prayer that ended in "in Jesus Name, Amen"., There were a couple of prayers in the whole sequence. Many of the kids were National Honor Society and/or Sigma Phi Beta. My nephew was an honor roll student, an Eagle Scout, went to State in football, and went to State in wrestling, as well as being a high officer in FFA. He is a normal, everyday down to earth cool kid, like much of his class of 56 students. All three nephews are Eagle Scouts, and all are articulate and driven. Maybe not all is lost in the U.S.A. The turnout at his after graduation ceremony was phenomenal. I just wanted to share because I am so proud of these guys and what they have accomplished. We need more kids like this, and more parental involvement, and more community involvement. Support your local community, and even more important, support and encourage your kids. Get involved.

  7. I got the guy's # from my friend & left a message. The certified letter is mailed to his old address, so it would take a while to be forwarded.

He got in touch with my friend & she called me & said that the guy's girlfriend should be by sometime tonight to pick the pooch up.

I really hope he keeps the pooch, It's really messy, even though I'm of a soft heart when it comes to dogs, I just don't want it in my place due to the fact that I dress nicely usually & the dog slimes the crap out of me every time I'm around him.

Like I said, I like bird dogs & bird dog mixes. They're just SO MUCH smarter & obedient than other dogs. The Bulldog's much smarter than some others, such as lahasas & terrorists terriers, but no comparison for a properly trained bird dog.

Slobber and dog hair come with the responsibility of owning s dog! LOL, you will never get rid of either, but when the doggie has lived a good life with you, you will always wish and want the kisses and hair back, when you regret them after they are gone. I've got a black lab/australian sheperd mix right now that is 19 years old (I checked it with the vet to make sure, and he was amazed) and she has a tumor and stuff, but she is the toughest, most strong willed dog I have ever known or owned. Not mean, just strong willed. Sometimes I wish I had half the guts that she does. She was the runt of the litter, go figure. All we can do is try to make this world better for our furry friends. My dogs are spoiled silly. And they are all castaways that no one else wanted.

  8. A cool concept, but like riding a high tech unicycle. You would always be tensing up, ready to tip over, just a natural reaction. Without Ski poles or a back rest or handlebars, I really think you would have a hard time overcoming percieved motions, and you would inflict major stress on your back and upper body. As I commented on the video, looks like a great idea, much like Steve martins eyeglass upgrade in "The Jerk", but it ultimately made everyone cross-eyed. There is no way you could support your posture for a full day on one of those things.

  9. When I worked in Houston for the electrical utility some called Houston Looting and Plunder (HL+P), they would keep all of their lineman vehicles at any one spot with the keys in the ignition so the mechanics could easily go retrieve them for service and maint. This was inside a huge fenced compound, on private property, with security guards at each entry point. After a few vehicles got stolen, the police threatened to charge the utility with "creating a public nuisance". They ended up having to have the vehicle drivers turn in their keys for the vehicles they needed work to be done on. The blame was shifted from the criminal to the owner.

  10. I was going to say Adam Sandler "Little Nicky" It took me 5 or 6 starts to finally finish it. But then a buddy of mine that I grew up with, and he knows my warped sense of humor, bought me an X-mas present this year. Alice In Acidland. A scared straight film from 1968 about a girl that got caught up with the wrong crowd. Holy Good Lord! I had to restart it 8 times to get through it. Lot's of nudity and lezbo action, but couldn't save this one for anything. Wow. Just, ... wow.

  11. The government loving press are smearing the militias as an excuse to take more of our rights away. They label them as right wing extremists and white supremacists. I would avoid joining them for that reason. They usually have some wacko members and government informers or implants who would love to send you to jail for being part of these groups. It would take one nutcase to plot something which the zealous government agents would tack charges on someone innocent who would never plot any attacks on the government and ship them off to a federal prison. Who needs that kind of problems? Why make yourself a target for the leftist press and the government? To me the militia members run around in wooded areas dressed in camo fatigues and play soldier.

I heard on a talk show in Detroit about black militias as well and some militias which don't care about your race but that won't get coverage in the press because it's not convenient to report about them.

The militias were blamed for the Oklahoma City federal building bombing while the government ignored the Iraqi Islamic connection to the attack. The former Traitor and Thief Bill Clinton falsely blamed them and talk radio for the attack while ignoring the Islamic connection. He gave them more credit than they deserve.

As some of our members state, we are the militia if the country gets invaded and the military is defeated we are the last line of defense.

Interesting you bring up the Oklahoma bombing. Look up SGT. Terry Yeakey. Google him. If the gov can't control what happens to their own, imagine what would happen to you. Your militia ain't going to mean anything unless it all goes down.

  12. And another thing Bron, I fucking dare you to spend a whole minute seriously pondering this...

Imagine what it must be like to man the fuck up enough to start something where you actually WRITE pay checks. Can you imagine? No, seriously, I know you can't.

Imagine a situation where, after you satisfy customers, replentish your inventory, pay your taxes, pay the bills and pay the employees, you THEN get to see if there is anything left for yourself. Imagine that you used your life savings to get that business started and idiots like 0bama want to RAISE your taxes even higher. After all, you're a rich business owner and it's not fair to the rest of society that you have more than anyone else.

I am willing to bet that you don't have the stones to seriously consider doing something like that to say nothing of actually doing it.

If you want to impress me with your knowledge of how life is, start a business that creates jobs and writes paychecks. I'll bet big money that you can't do it.

You are right. I'm in a dead end job, and have, really no chance in "creating more productivity". I deliver goods. I am a glorified transportation worker. Just as you were when you were a pilot. The only point I try to make about the unions, is that they are a leash on the huge companies. Without the unions, the companies could go back to 16 hour a work days. And demand anything they want from their employees. I guess I'm like the frog in a skillet. I don't notice the water getting hotter as it gets turned up, until I'm cooked. No one is owed anything. But, if the owners of the company care enough, they will pay their workers a wage that will allow them to buy that home, or that car. That's how the economy works. If you don't pay a decent wage, nothing gets bought. When you get a business going, and it pays only pennies on the dollar, that is called a sweatshop. Do you think the term "He got railroaded" came out of thin air? Unions exist to protect the rights of the workers. Yes, I agree with you on almost all points, but workers should be protected from those they work for as well. I may not be "owed anything", but I don't have to be raped if the company sees fit. If the company make billions, and the profits are millions, and the workers get paid just enough to scrape by, WHO really profits? Not the local economy. Also, If every person started their own company, like you, or were self sufficient, like you, how would things get done? There are always going to be workers. No matter what. It's the cost of doing the job. I do envy you, for finding an escape hatch. It's not in most peoples's grasp.
