  1. I took this picture.. this is my gf and she was selected by the owner of Blackheart to be in his calendar. The owner told me that he sells these to the Government to special ops crews that bury themselves deep in the opposition, he also said that if you saw one of these guns it would be the last AK you would ever see.. 99% of the time these are fielded is in the dark. hence the night sights and optics rail options Sorry I did mean sgl-21.. and even though Id like to say it was a type-o it was more of a brain fart... but yes it is 7.62 also he just goes with the best quality commerciall
  2. I was just excited to find out that the US government uses these An AK with the worse accessories is still better than an AR with the best in my book
  3. SopMod AK Try that I would have went with a different quad rail (actually I would have went with the ultimak) but the stock is pretty nice on the one I handled. I had the AR tube adapter with the Magpul stock that locks (cant remember model)
  4. Blackheart International makes these for the US Government It is the sopmod model which begins life as a Arsenal (saiga) sgl-21 and get transformed into this.. Proof that the US government uses AK's And yes of course it has the 3rd pin Civilian Version
  5. Very cool video, I kinda miss school, well the learning part not the homework and tests part.. Very good quality video
  6. 16GB card The more light the better, of course you need to add light in which ever direction illustrates/accents what you want to see, or film in the morning or evening... Best Shot then do all manual settings if you want a good clip. (if your asking about a camera forum) I barely have time to visit my favorite gun forums...
  7. Another great example of what can be fixed with slow motion. If it happens to fast to see you have a harder time figuring out what is wrong. An example of fixing a fault. About 10 years back a skateboarding friend of mine was trying to teach me how to do a kick flip. I just wasn't grasping it until he broke a recording down frame by frame and could better point out how it was done... Nailed it on my first attempt after that! Probably break my damn neck if I tried it today... Maybe if you make a slow mo of you running the camera I can figure that out too, LOL! You can see some
  8. I can actually see why I'm inaccurate with a pistol.. look how much I pull up on the gun before it goes off..
  9. If you like that just wait untill I actually setup to film one.. I just turned the camera on and started shooting. I had no clue other people would enjoy this as much as me.. I thought I was the only photography/videography geek on these forums..
  10. 10 miles north of Charleston WV That's my buddy Randy a.k.a. "Fast Finger Cain" dads old barn, we are slowly helping it to the ground 1 round at a time. The quality at 1200fps is pretty low.. but if the lighting is right you can get some pretty cool shots.
  11. P22 with outback II at 1200fps http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSo5-c0FYCA It is very hard to keep the subject in the frame and also it is hard to get the focus perfect, I focused on the building hoping to see the round in flight. btw this 3 min video took about 15 seconds to film...
  12. let me look through some of my footage and Ill post a video clip that is 1200fps You can see .22 rounds coming from a pistol... Im down for meeting up at Knob Creek, Ill run the camera till I run out of space on the card! of course you'll have to let me shoot a full auto saiga.... Im supposed to go up to Blackheart International in a couple weeks and shoot a PKM, G 18, PPSH, and a bunch of other cool toys, but no FA s12... Yes the gas block is moved rearward 2" and everything is shortened accordingly, I did a write up in the SBS technical thread on how I did it all. Is th
  13. Yup, I was going to add one to my S12 until I saw it hitting those hulls like that. You should be alright to have one. I have seen the factory handle do the exact same thing (not quite as slowly though, lol). The galil style may increase the chance though. If you watch again you will see other clips ejecting good and clear past the handle. I am guessing one of two things was the cause. Either his gun was very clean and needed to seal up with a little fowling or it was getting dirty and causing too much drag. Jmac, was that sequence with the weak ejection right after cleaning or was
  14. BTW Ill be at Knob Creek this fall if anyone would like a slow mo video of them shooting a MG
  15. Sorry to hear about your loss, your comment alone is justification enough for making this video. Just doing what I love and sharing it with others who share my passion. Thank you for sharing this comment with me it means a lot. VERY well executed. Any manufacturer would do well to grab you to do a promo video. you have an eye for more than just the basics. hell, i'd like to have you shoot a video of me playing with my toys just because that looked so awesome. great choice in music also. Caspian Speaking of demoing, hows the warthog demo coming? Still have receive
  16. Hmmm Yes! need to go to the market and find some good deals on melons, think 2 3/4 would be enough or is a 3" mag essential? 2 3/4" buck/slugs are more than sufficient to annihilate melons and milk jugs, but why not go with 3", just to be sure. I just saw that second video.... wow. That was extremely well done, sir. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who prunes foliage with his 12-ga. I did notice that one FTE, (stovepipe), at ~1:28, (replayed at ~1:30), though. I'm not sure if it's worth editing out, as most viewers probably won't catch it. Regardless, I think you

  18. Cant really tell that well in the picture but it was begging for mercy
  19. btw 1:07 my ass was on the grass, I was sitting on my feet and fell backwards... did anyone notice this....
  20. As Promised http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QB1o2isrCDI
  21. In about an hour all your dreams will come true... lol Finally got the video edited, just used my sisters MAC, this might be the coolest S-12 video on Youtube.. Just wait till you see what a 3" mag fireball from a 10" bbl looks like, it will honestly BLOW YOUR MIND (I wont give the surprise away) There are many things you will see in this video that you've never seen before including the shot and wadding leaving the gun and striking objects Also close up views of the internals with the dust cover off! Im starting to get used to the camera, and I LOVE IT!
  22. Top right, that looks really familiar We need to hit the range soon, after I restock on 7.62x39 btw the picture of your S-12 doesnt do it justice, super nice S-12 Krebs right?
  23. OK, ImageJ is open source and written in Java so it can be run on a PC or a Mac. It'll just take more effort. Unfortunately, that whole research community that I went to talk to is stocked to the gills with Macs so they don't have any suggestions other than ImageJ for PC. Sorry I can't be of more assistance! BTW, they mentioned the camera that you use and have one for the group for outreach purposes. They like it a lot. ok, ill check ImageJ out I really like the camera so far, its very picky about lighting when shooting in slow mo
  24. hmmm... software suggestion? OK, I went upstairs to ask my friends who do all the research using high speed cameras. If you have time and don't want to spend money you could download ImageJ and the plugin Slice Remover. They said that you could remove every Xth image and sew that together into a movie. If you want to spend money my friend said that Final Cut Pro would do it "no sweat." Sorry I don't have more, I've not done it myself but watched the handiwork of some of my friends. Ive used Final Cut Pro, its excellent, but only on a MAC.. I have a PC..
